2. Job Description

Indus Motor Company is currently accepting applications for multiple Assistant Manager-level engineering positions. Each role is full-time and based at the company’s production plant in Port Qasim, Karachi.

We are hiring for the following positions:

  1. Assistant Manager – Production Control & Logistics
  2. Assistant Manager – Civil Engineer
  3. Assistant Manager – Assembly & Press
  4. Assistant Manager – Maintenance
  5. Assistant Manager – Production Planning

General Responsibilities by Role:

Production Control & Logistics

  • Oversee material planning, procurement scheduling, and inventory control
  • Ensure smooth coordination between production, procurement, and suppliers
  • Support lean inventory practices and logistics optimization

Civil Engineer

  • Supervise construction and infrastructure maintenance projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for timely project execution

Assembly & Press

  • Monitor and improve the performance of press and assembly lines
  • Implement quality assurance practices to meet production standards
  • Lead initiatives in process improvement and cycle time reduction

Maintenance

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance for plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical/electrical breakdowns
  • Ensure minimal downtime and smooth plant operations

Production Planning

  • Develop and manage production schedules in coordination with demand forecasts
  • Analyze capacity utilization and suggest improvements
  • Align manufacturing timelines with sales and logistics departments

These roles require a strong understanding of automotive or mechanical systems, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance team environment. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement.


3. Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering from a recognized university

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production, plant maintenance, logistics, or civil engineering (depending on the role)

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage technical teams and coordinate cross-functional activities
  • Proficiency in engineering software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, or Kaizen methodologies is a plus
  • Understanding of safety and compliance standards in an industrial environment
