Currently, Riverside is looking to hire three Senior Mechanical Technicians for a project in Saudi Arabia, with a specific focus on Wartsila 18V50DF engines. 2. Job Description

The role of Senior Mechanical Technician (Wartsila Engines) is ideal for candidates with solid experience in engine overhauls, power system maintenance, and auxiliary systems servicing. This full-time position is based on-site in Saudi Arabia and requires individuals who are confident in both their technical expertise and their ability to work independently on complex engine systems.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance on Wartsila 18V50DF engines at designated intervals:
    • 500H, 1000H, 2000H, 4000H, 6000H, 12000H, and 18000H
  • Conduct complete overhauls of Wartsila engines, following OEM specifications
  • Overhaul and service Alfa Laval separators, both Lube Oil and CRO types
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Boll & Kirch automatic lube oil filter systems
  • Handle the complete servicing of AAF charge air filter systems
  • Inspect and replace components of exhaust gas systems, including:
    • Compensator units
    • Wastegate (WG) and bypass mechanisms
  • Overhaul and maintain oil mist separators, ensuring engine safety compliance
  • Operate, install, and service industrial air compressor systems, including:
    • Speere
    • Gardner Denver
    • Atlas Copco
  • Conduct precision alignment of rotary machinery such as:
    • Pumps
    • Fans
    • Compressors
    • Drive shafts and couplings
  • Inspect and maintain boiler systems, ensuring operational readiness and safety
  • Work closely with the team to follow maintenance schedules, resolve technical issues, and minimize engine downtime
  • Prepare maintenance logs, service reports, and documentation for inspections
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards as per project and regulatory guidelines

This position demands someone who is methodical, well-organized, and deeply familiar with the internal systems of Wartsila engines and their auxiliary support systems.


3. Eligibility Criteria

This job requires hands-on mechanical experience and a track record of working with power generation equipment. The successful candidate should meet the following qualifications and skillsets:

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of field experience working with Wartsila 18V50DF engines
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in engine servicing and planned maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in overhauling Alfa Laval separators, filters, and exhaust gas systems
  • Familiarity with compressor systems (Speere, Gardner Denver, Atlas Copco)
  • Expertise in rotary equipment alignment and vibration diagnostics
  • Knowledge of boiler inspection and routine maintenance procedures
  • Ability to interpret engine manuals, engineering drawings, and service bulletins
  • Competent in using tools, alignment equipment, and maintenance instruments
  • Must be detail-oriented with a safety-first approach to work
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain records and reports accurately
  • Physically fit and able to work in demanding field environments

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous international work experience, particularly in the Gulf region
  • Familiarity with Wartsila software tools or maintenance tracking systems
  • Knowledge of marine engine room systems is a plus
  • HSE certification (e.g., OSHA or NEBOSH) will be considered an advantage

The role is well-suited for technicians who have previously worked on high-pressure projects, handled emergency repairs, and led small teams during shutdown maintenance activities.


4. Location

City/Country: Saudi Arabia
This is an on-site, full-time job with project-based deployments across industrial facilities. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia and comply with local employment and safety regulations.
