2. Job Description – Network Engineer & System Engineer
Amreli Steels is hiring for Network Engineer and System Engineer roles. Both positions require hands-on experience, an understanding of enterprise networks and infrastructure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Below is a detailed breakdown of responsibilities shared across both positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Configuration: Plan, configure, and manage LAN/WAN/VPN networks. Set up and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network appliances. Devices used include Cisco, Fortinet, PF-Sense, and Sangfor systems.
- Collaboration with Vendors: Liaise with ISPs and third-party vendors to coordinate and implement network upgrades and performance enhancements. Ensure service reliability and documentation of external integrations.
- Storage & Backup Systems: Manage storage systems such as Lenovo NAS, QNAP, Dell QSAN, Data Domain, and tape libraries including Dell tape solutions. Design and monitor backup solutions using tools like NetBackup and Veeam.
- Wireless Infrastructure: Set up and maintain wireless controllers and devices, including equipment from Ubiquity, Grand Stream, and H3C.
- Server Management: Deploy and administer servers (Rack and Blade configurations) from brands like Dell and HP. Handle system updates, health checks, and performance tuning.
- Virtualization: Administer virtualization platforms including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V. Implement and manage virtual machine networks and optimize resource allocation.
- Operating Systems and Services: Configure and manage Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, Exchange, and SharePoint. Also, handle Linux environments (SUSE, Ubuntu) for specific server roles.
- Security and Policy Enforcement: Implement endpoint protection solutions like Bitdefender and Trend Micro. Define and enforce security policies to ensure system integrity and protection against threats.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly track system and network performance, generate reports, and resolve potential issues before they impact business operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network diagrams, asset inventory, incident logs, configuration settings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Each position requires attention to detail, a commitment to uptime and security, and the ability to respond swiftly to incidents. This role is best suited to professionals who enjoy troubleshooting, thinking critically, and taking ownership of complex IT environments.
3. Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Network Engineer or System Engineer position, applicants should meet the following requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Electronics Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, VMware Certified, or Fortinet NSE are a plus and may give candidates a competitive edge.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role within a manufacturing, industrial, or corporate setting.
- Demonstrated experience with managing large enterprise networks, including setup and maintenance of firewalls, VPNs, routers, and switches.
- Working knowledge of server management in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Prior experience with virtualization, data backup systems, and network security solutions is essential.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of network architecture and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Fortinet devices.
- Proficiency in managing NAS/SAN environments and performing disaster recovery operations.
- Comfortable working with cloud and hybrid infrastructure (knowledge of Azure/AWS is an advantage).
- Ability to script and automate tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools is desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities.
