Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer – E&I at Krones Pakistan, your role will be to serve as the on-site technical expert who ensures that industrial automation and electrical systems in beverage machinery are installed, maintained, and functioning to the highest standards.

This role demands strong knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems, including hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, industrial communication protocols, and safety systems. You will be responsible for conducting service activities at customer sites across Pakistan, and occasionally internationally, depending on the scale of the project.

Your responsibilities will include the installation and commissioning of new machinery, troubleshooting and repairing issues in existing systems, and providing preventive maintenance to reduce unexpected downtimes. You will directly engage with some of the most advanced beverage production lines in the region, and be expected to uphold the technical integrity of the equipment and ensure customer satisfaction at all times.

You will need to interpret electrical schematics, configure and program automation components, and fine-tune systems to achieve optimal performance. Working with technologies like Siemens, Allen Bradley, B&R, and Danfoss is part of the day-to-day job, as is managing communication interfaces such as Profibus, Profinet, CAN bus, and Ethernet-based protocols.

Each day will bring a different challenge—perhaps diagnosing a failed sensor in a high-speed filler line one day, or upgrading firmware and safety interlocks on a packaging machine the next. The role requires not only technical knowledge but also resilience, flexibility, and a proactive mindset.

Beyond technical work, your responsibilities will include detailed documentation. You’ll be expected to write accurate service reports, timesheets, and feedback logs. Timely and professional communication with customers is crucial. You’ll be the primary technical point of contact and need to be confident in explaining system issues and recommending improvements.

You’ll also support internal teams by feeding back insights from the field. These observations help improve design, enhance customer experience, and innovate product offerings. You’ll be encouraged to share suggestions that lead to improved efficiency or better safety protocols.

In this role, safety and hygiene compliance are non-negotiable. Working in industrial food and beverage plants means adhering to strict quality standards. You must be familiar with personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout-tagout procedures, and the general safety culture of industrial environments.

Travel is an essential part of the job. This includes visiting customer sites across Pakistan, occasionally working night shifts or weekends depending on machine shutdown schedules, and being available to travel abroad for training or project assignments when required.

At Krones, no two days are the same—but every day is an opportunity to learn and grow. If you enjoy solving problems, working hands-on with machinery, and want to build an engineering career that’s both challenging and global in scope, this is the right role for you.
