Job Description
The Graduate Engineer Trainee Program 2025 provides structured training for recent graduates in multiple engineering and operational disciplines. Selected candidates will undergo rotational assignments across different departments, receiving mentorship from experienced professionals. The program will allow trainees to work in production, process control, maintenance, and operations, giving them a complete understanding of how the cement manufacturing process works.
Openings are available in the following disciplines:
- Mechanical Engineering: Trainees will focus on equipment maintenance, plant operations, and process optimization to ensure efficient mechanical systems.
- Electrical Engineering: Participants will gain hands-on experience in automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems critical to plant operations.
- Process/Quality Engineering: This track involves chemical and industrial process analysis, quality assurance, and monitoring product standards to meet industry requirements.
- Control Room Operators: Diploma holders will be trained in plant operations, process monitoring, and ensuring smooth and safe production.
This program is a career launchpad for graduates who want to apply their academic knowledge in an industrial environment while learning the operational and leadership skills required for long-term success.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Graduate Engineer Trainee Program 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A First Class or Upper Second-Class University Degree completed between 2023 and 2025 in the relevant field.
- Mechanical/Industrial Engineering for Mechanical Engineering Trainees.
- Electrical/Automation Engineering for Electrical Engineering Trainees.
- Chemical/Industrial Chemistry/Process Engineering/Natural Sciences for Process/Quality Engineering Trainees.
- Diploma holders in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering for Control Room Operator positions.
- A minimum of three principal passes at A’ Level, in addition to strong credits (4 and above) in English and Mathematics at O’ Level.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Applicants must be motivated, adaptable, and committed to developing a career in the cement and construction industry.
Location
The program will be based at Hima Cement’s Tororo Grinding Station, located at Plot 146, Block 6 West Budama, Rubongi, Tororo, Uganda.
