Job Description
Fatima Sugar Mills Limited is inviting applications for the position of Senior Engineer Instrument at its Kot Addu plant.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for instrumentation maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and control system operations. The role requires solid technical expertise in DCS (Honeywell / SUPCON), PLC, and SCADA systems, as well as hands-on experience managing field instruments such as transmitters, valves, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in electronics or mechatronics engineering who are passionate about automation, process reliability, and plant optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of field instruments such as transmitters, control valves, and VFDs.
- Operate, monitor, and modify logic in DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, ensuring process reliability and optimization.
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all instrumentation equipment.
- Ensure proper documentation of calibration and maintenance activities in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Lead routine and shutdown maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and safe operations.
- Supervise instrumentation technicians and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Collaborate with production, mechanical, and electrical departments to ensure smooth plant operation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend system upgrades for better efficiency.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Identify root causes of instrumentation failures and implement effective corrective actions.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience:
- 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in instrumentation maintenance, calibration, and DCS/PLC systems, preferably within the sugar or process industry.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong command of Honeywell / SUPCON DCS systems.
- Familiarity with SCADA and PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in instrument calibration techniques and documentation.
- Experience managing VFDs, sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
- Sound knowledge of industrial automation, loop checking, and control logic.
- Awareness of electrical safety standards, process interlocks, and control loop optimization.
