Job Overview
Dewan Cement Limited is currently hiring an Assistant Manager – Electrical Department for its Karachi Plant. This position is a great opportunity for experienced electrical engineers seeking to expand their careers in a high-performing, industrial setting.
The selected candidate will play a vital role in supervising, maintaining, and optimizing the plant’s electrical systems and automation infrastructure. From power distribution and motor control to preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, this position requires a hands-on professional with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of heavy industrial electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure smooth operation and maintenance of electrical systems, motors, drives, and control panels across the plant.
- Implement and execute preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in machinery, automation, and power distribution systems.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and company operational policies.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Mechanical, and Instrumentation teams to ensure efficient and uninterrupted plant operations.
- Maintain detailed logs of electrical assets, maintenance activities, breakdowns, and energy usage.
- Support in power audits, system upgrades, and implementation of energy conservation measures.
- Participate in shutdown planning, execution, and commissioning of new electrical installations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in a cement plant or heavy industrial setup.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of PLCs, motor drives (VFDs), switchgear, and power distribution.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and hands-on maintenance of industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with automation systems, relay logic, and control circuits.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, with experience in ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) considered an added advantage.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
