Job Description
The Trainee Electrical Engineer at INTECH Automation Intelligence will participate in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and automation solutions for a range of industrial applications. The role provides a structured learning path, enabling trainees to gain hands-on exposure to real-world projects in process automation, SCADA virtualization, wellhead automation, telecommunication, and related domains.
Trainees will assist senior engineers in the design and drafting of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear and Motor Control Center (MCC) systems. They will learn to interpret project specifications, develop engineering drawings, prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), and perform basic engineering calculations. This exposure ensures that trainees acquire the technical skills needed to support electrical design, documentation, and implementation efforts effectively.
Installation and commissioning support is another critical component of this role. Trainees will gain practical experience assisting with LV & MV switchgear, MCCs, and transformer systems. Working alongside experienced engineers, trainees will learn installation procedures, safety protocols, and operational testing techniques. This hands-on involvement is essential for understanding the intricacies of electrical systems in industrial environments.
Trainees will also participate in the review of project specifications, including Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and support in ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards. This responsibility teaches trainees how to evaluate technical documents, identify potential issues, and align project deliverables with engineering and quality standards.
Vendor coordination is an additional aspect of the role. Trainees will assist in technical clarifications, documentation reviews, and follow-ups on deliverables. This experience helps trainees develop communication skills, organizational abilities, and an understanding of supplier relationships in industrial project execution.
Document control and quality assurance are central to the Trainee Engineer’s responsibilities. Trainees will ensure that engineering documentation, project files, and technical records are maintained according to company and client standards. They will gain familiarity with QA/QC requirements, document revision control, and compliance checks throughout project phases.
Trainees will also receive exposure to HVAC system design and integration with electrical systems. While the focus remains on electrical and automation engineering, understanding the interplay between electrical infrastructure and auxiliary systems prepares trainees for complex industrial projects.
Pre-sales support activities provide additional learning opportunities. Trainees will assist in preparing bid documents, technical clarifications, and estimation sheets under supervision. This experience offers insight into client interactions, project costing, and the early stages of industrial automation project development.
Throughout the internship, trainees will learn to track project progress, manage schedules, and collaborate effectively with engineering, planning, and operations teams. Exposure to these operational aspects ensures that trainees understand how engineering decisions impact overall project execution.
The Trainee Electrical Engineer role emphasizes problem-solving, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn. Trainees are expected to engage actively with mentors, ask questions, and develop a foundational understanding of industrial automation and electrical systems. By the end of the program, trainees will have gained practical skills, technical knowledge, and exposure to real-world challenges faced by industrial engineers.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Trainee Electrical Engineer position at INTECH Automation Intelligence must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. The program is open to fresh graduates or candidates with up to one year of work experience. A strong academic record, enthusiasm to learn, and a proactive attitude are key requirements for success.
Candidates must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The ability to interpret technical information, understand complex electrical systems, and contribute meaningfully to projects is critical. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for collaboration with mentors, project teams, and vendors.
A willingness to engage with hands-on tasks, learn installation and commissioning procedures, and participate in documentation and QA/QC activities is essential. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, international work environment.
Trainees are expected to show commitment to personal growth and professional development. Interest in automation, process control, and industrial technologies is a plus. Exposure to design software, electrical system drafting, or engineering calculations will be advantageous but not mandatory.
The role is ideal for candidates seeking global exposure, mentorship from experienced professionals, and practical experience in industrial automation across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, utilities, and renewable energy. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Lahore and participate fully in the structured trainee program.
