Job Description
INTECH Automation Intelligence is hiring an Automation Engineer – AI & Digitalisation Integration for its Project Monitoring and Control team in Lahore. This mid-senior-level role involves leading and executing automation engineering activities for complex projects across Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Utilities, and Manufacturing industries.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, engineering, and implementation of PLC- and DCS-based control systems throughout the complete project lifecycle, from concept design to commissioning and handover. The role requires active involvement in system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and on-site support, ensuring solutions meet performance, reliability, and cybersecurity standards.
The Automation Engineer will develop and validate control system architectures, loop diagrams, panel layouts, and detailed engineering documentation. A strong focus will be placed on leveraging modern engineering tools, digital workflows, and automation best practices to enhance design efficiency, reduce rework, and improve system reliability.
This role also involves designing and supporting industrial connectivity between field devices, control systems, gateways, and higher-level OT or monitoring platforms. The engineer will contribute to digitalisation initiatives, including remote monitoring, diagnostics, analytics-driven optimisation, and system performance improvement.
Cross-disciplinary collaboration is a key part of this position. The Automation Engineer will work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Cybersecurity, and Digital Solutions teams to deliver fully integrated automation systems. Ensuring compliance with internal engineering standards, customer specifications, and cybersecurity requirements is essential.
In addition to project execution, the role includes mentoring junior engineers, developing engineering templates and standards, preparing technical documentation and training material, and supporting proof-of-concept and pilot activities related to emerging automation technologies.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for this position must meet the following requirements.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Control Systems Engineering from a recognized university.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in industrial automation is required. Candidates must have hands-on knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS platforms, and IoT-based automation solutions.
Applicants should be familiar with process-oriented engineering methodologies and have experience working in structured project environments. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, and REST APIs will be considered a strong advantage.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. Candidates must be capable of working under deadlines while maintaining high engineering quality.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams are required. An interest in competency development, knowledge sharing, and capability building within engineering teams is highly valued.
