2. Job Description

As an Assistant Engineer – Electrical, your role is essential to ensuring that all electrical aspects of the assigned construction project are executed with technical precision, compliance, and efficiency. You will work under the supervision of the senior engineering team and project manager, coordinating daily site activities and supporting the full lifecycle of electrical installation.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Supervision of Electrical Works

You will oversee daily electrical installation activities, including lighting, earthing, fire alarm systems, low-voltage (ELV) systems, cable routing, switchgear installation, and generator connections. You will be expected to verify that all works are carried out according to design specifications and national/international codes of practice.

2. Quality Assurance and Site Inspections

On a daily basis, you will perform visual inspections and testing of installed electrical systems. This includes checking cable insulation resistance, ensuring earthing continuity, and inspecting the installation of fire alarm devices, emergency lighting, and communication systems. You’ll ensure proper workmanship and eliminate any unsafe or non-compliant practices.

3. Review of Technical Documentation

You will be required to review and interpret electrical drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), single line diagrams (SLDs), and schematic layouts. This includes verifying that installed materials match the approved design and recommending any necessary adjustments for site conditions or variations.

4. Coordination with Stakeholders

You will communicate and coordinate with civil engineers, mechanical teams, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution and avoid design conflicts. If any discrepancies arise between drawings or site conditions, it will be your responsibility to raise these with the design team and propose workable solutions.

5. Material Management

You will assist in the planning and ordering of electrical materials, ensuring that they are received on-site on time, as per the required technical specifications. Any discrepancy in delivery, damage, or shortfall will be reported to the procurement and project teams.

6. Documentation & Reporting

You will maintain daily progress reports, testing documentation, inspection checklists, and logbooks for electrical activities. All documentation will be submitted to the project head for review and audit purposes.

7. Adherence to Safety Standards

Safety is a top priority at Paragon. You will be expected to ensure that all electrical works follow standard HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) practices. Proper PPE use, LOTO procedures, safe electrical handling, and emergency preparedness will be part of your oversight duties.

8. Site Coordination & Planning

With your knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical design, you will support layout planning and interface coordination among all services—such as HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting—to avoid clashes and optimize installation efficiency.

9. Technical Meetings and Site Walkdowns

You will participate in regular project meetings, technical reviews, and site walkdowns with senior engineers and consultants. Based on findings, you’ll contribute to improvement plans, rectification strategies, and installation phasing.

10. Project Close-Out

As the project nears completion, you’ll be responsible for helping in preparing as-built drawings, testing reports, final inspection forms, and other handover documents.

Working in a fast-paced construction environment in Islamabad, this role requires both technical competence and strong communication skills. You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, initiative, and a willingness to take ownership of your tasks.
