The Military Engineering Services (MES), operating under the Ministry of Defence, is one of the oldest and most respected engineering institutions in Pakistan. Established to support the country’s military infrastructure, it plays a critical role in maintaining and constructing defense installations, cantonment facilities, and government engineering projects nationwide.
MES is not only responsible for the engineering and maintenance of Army and Air Force infrastructures but also carries out highly technical projects including power generation, mechanical systems, HVAC, and electrical systems installation across the country. From field barracks in remote areas to high-end office complexes and power distribution networks, MES ensures operational continuity for the military and supports various national development projects as required.
The department works under strict standards of discipline, accountability, and technical precision. The engineers and officers who serve in MES are expected to carry out their duties with commitment, professionalism, and integrity.
With growing technical responsibilities in a rapidly evolving defense and engineering environment, the MES is currently looking to recruit Assistant Engineers (BS-16) in Electrical and Mechanical categories, through the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). This is a permanent, government position open to qualified engineering graduates looking to serve their country in a technically challenging and nationally important role.
The FPSC Case No. F.4-103/2025-R (3/2025) outlines 20 total vacancies for Assistant Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) in the Military Engineering Services, Ministry of Defence. This blog provides a complete, human-written guide to this job opportunity—covering job description, eligibility, location, and application process.
