Job Description

The position of Assistant Manager – Electrical at Sapphire Diamond Fabrics Limited is a highly responsible role aimed at ensuring seamless monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of digital, electrical, and instrumentation systems across the company’s operations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the SCADA systems of the plant, including processing, utilities, and solar operations. This requires a strong understanding of real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The Assistant Manager will also play a key role in the integration and maintenance of MES and ERP platforms, enabling smooth data acquisition and system-wide operational transparency.

In this role, the Assistant Manager will lead a team of skilled electrical workers to ensure high uptime and reliability of plant operations. The professional will also be responsible for calibrating and maintaining instrumentation such as flow meters, energy analyzers, and industrial communication devices.

Furthermore, the Assistant Manager will be expected to collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and vendors to coordinate upgrades, ensure technical compliance, and resolve system-level issues. The position requires consistent analysis of performance reports, downtime logs, and energy consumption KPIs, contributing toward data-driven decision-making at the management level.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot SCADA systems, including those for processing, utilities, and solar energy.
Configure alarms and system integrity protocols to ensure uninterrupted operation and high uptime.
Manage MES data acquisition and its integration with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
Calibrate and maintain field instrumentation, including energy analyzers and flow meters.
Supervise and lead the electrical workforce, ensuring the timely completion of SCADA and electrical maintenance tasks.
Analyze system performance reports and identify root causes of downtime and inefficiency.
Manage and oversee industrial communication protocols such as RS485, Ethernet, Modbus, and TCP/IP.
Collaborate with OEMs and external vendors to coordinate upgrades, technical support, and new system implementations.

Core Competencies

To be successful in this role, candidates are expected to demonstrate:

Strong technical expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems.
Practical experience with SCADA platforms such as Siemens WinCC and Circutor Power Studio SCADA.
Knowledge of MES and ERP system integration.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and networking systems.
Experience with solar SCADA monitoring, diagnostics, and performance optimization.
Leadership and team management skills for supervising an electrical workforce.
Analytical abilities to evaluate energy consumption KPIs and downtime trends.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Minimum of 5 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in automation, instrumentation, or digital system management.
Proven track record of handling SCADA operations, MES/ERP integrations, and plant instrumentation.
Experience in renewable energy (solar SCADA) will be considered an added advantage.
