Job Description
The position of Assistant Manager – Engineering at GO Foods Pakistan is designed for professionals who thrive in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. The role involves planning, supervising, and executing technical projects across the company’s diverse operations, ensuring that every initiative aligns with safety, quality, and performance standards.
The Assistant Manager will serve as a key technical resource within the organization, working in coordination with senior engineers, consultants, contractors, and management to ensure seamless project execution from start to finish. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial systems, project management, and engineering principles applicable to infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy-related projects.
The individual will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, managing construction oversight, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the development of detailed engineering designs. A significant part of the role involves field engagement, where the Assistant Manager monitors on-site progress, coordinates with technical teams, and ensures that work meets the company’s quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive technical feasibility studies, risk assessments, and site evaluations for upcoming and ongoing industrial projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings, designs, and BOQs (Bills of Quantities) in collaboration with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ensure that all project designs comply with local regulatory requirements, international standards, and corporate specifications.
- Support in developing detailed project execution plans, including schedules, budgets, and performance benchmarks.
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day construction and installation activities at project sites, ensuring work is performed according to approved plans and procedures.
- Coordinate closely with vendors, contractors, and government authorities to obtain timely approvals, NOCs, and technical clearances.
- Manage procurement processes for materials and equipment, ensuring technical compliance, cost control, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with external consultants, architects, and technical service providers to achieve quality engineering deliverables.
- Provide ongoing technical support for troubleshooting and optimizing existing operational assets such as fuel stations, terminals, or production facilities.
- Ensure that all engineering and construction activities strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines.
- Participate in project review meetings, prepare progress reports, and update management on key milestones.
- Oversee documentation, including contracts, drawings, compliance certificates, and equipment manuals for project record-keeping.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, energy conservation, and sustainability.
- Lead small-scale engineering assignments independently while contributing to larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
The position requires a proactive approach, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a commitment to technical excellence and organizational objectives.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s degree or professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in project engineering or maintenance roles within oil & gas, agro-processing, or industrial infrastructure sectors.
- Strong background in technical design, project supervision, and construction coordination.
- Demonstrated experience with engineering documentation, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations.
- Familiarity with national and international engineering standards such as ASTM, API, ASME, or ISO.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent understanding of engineering project management, design workflows, and construction supervision.
- Ability to analyze engineering data, identify challenges, and develop effective technical solutions.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office for preparing drawings, reports, and scheduling plans.
- Strong grasp of HSE standards, with the ability to promote and ensure safe work practices at all times.
- Problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and vendor management processes.
Work Environment:
- The position is based at the Head Office in Lahore, with occasional travel to field or project sites as required.
- The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, procurement, and operations, to ensure smooth project delivery.
