Job Description

The Assistant Manager – Industrial Engineering will play a pivotal role in driving process efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and enhancing production performance within the textile processing unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed time and motion studies across production departments to evaluate operational efficiency and identify performance gaps.
  • Develop comprehensive process maps to document workflows and identify bottlenecks.
  • Lead and support Lean manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste and improve process flow.
  • Collaborate with the Process Control and Technical teams to implement process optimization strategies.
  • Use data analysis and performance metrics to monitor productivity levels and suggest improvement measures.
  • Prepare detailed performance analysis reports highlighting key findings, process issues, and actionable recommendations.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through effective utilization of labor, machinery, and raw materials.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and efficiency targets.
  • Analyze machine downtime, labor utilization, and throughput to improve plant performance.
  • Conduct periodic industrial engineering audits to ensure process compliance and identify areas of improvement.
  • Train and mentor production staff on process improvement methodologies and Lean tools.
  • Ensure that all process modifications comply with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Present project results and improvement outcomes to senior management for strategic decision-making.

This role requires a strong balance of analytical thinking, technical knowledge, and leadership ability. The Assistant Manager will collaborate closely with multiple departments, including Production, Maintenance, Quality, and HR, to ensure the smooth execution of improvement projects.

The position demands attention to detail, hands-on involvement in factory operations, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. The individual must be able to interpret data effectively, identify trends, and use that insight to drive measurable performance enhancements.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the position of Assistant Manager – Industrial Engineering, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Education: B.E or B.S degree in Industrial Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in process improvement, industrial engineering, or production optimization (experience in textile processing will be preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of time and motion studies, process mapping, and work measurement.
    • Knowledge of Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, VSM, and Continuous Improvement.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and industrial engineering software.
    • Familiarity with production systems, machine layouts, and factory process flows.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent ability to collect, interpret, and analyze performance data for process improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to prepare reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to guide junior engineers, coordinate with supervisors, and drive improvement projects independently.
