Job Description

The Assistant Manager / Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems at Lucky Energy’s power generation facilities. The role requires a deep understanding of both high and low voltage equipment and the ability to manage complex electrical networks that include transformers, switchgear, motors, and generators.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform detailed maintenance and troubleshooting of 11kV and 400V systems, including transformers, switchgear, motors, and generators.
Team Leadership: Supervise and lead electrical teams for routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring that all activities are executed safely and efficiently.
Fault Diagnosis: Identify and analyze electrical faults, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and minimize downtime.
Technical Documentation: Maintain and update electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams (SLDs) and layouts using AutoCAD or MS Visio.
System Management: Manage and maintain UPS systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), soft starters, and inverters, ensuring all are operating within design parameters.
Protection Systems: Configure and test protection relays to ensure system stability, reliability, and compliance with standard protection schemes.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to HSE and electrical safety standards during all operational and maintenance activities. Promote a culture of safety among team members and contractors.
Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports on maintenance activities, system performance, and project implementation outcomes.
System Upgrades: Support electrical system upgrades, assist in load management and shedding systems, and ensure optimization of power distribution networks.
Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical and control engineers to ensure integrated performance of electrical systems across plant operations.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the position of Assistant Manager / Senior Electrical Engineer, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology (BE/B.Tech) from a recognized university or institute.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within the power generation, industrial, or energy sector.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in maintenance of 11kV and 400V electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, motors, and generators.
- Experience handling gas and diesel engine gensets at LV and MV levels.
- Ability to read, interpret, and design single-line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical control schematics.
- Skilled in the use of AutoCAD and MS Visio for electrical documentation.
- Familiar with UPS systems, VFDs, soft starters, inverters, and protection relays configuration.
Software Skills:
- Strong command over MS Excel and MS Office.
- Proficiency in ETAP for system analysis and simulation will be an added advantage.
