Job Description
Packages Group is hiring an Assistant Technical Innovation Manager – Fiber Category to join its dynamic team. The position plays a critical role in shaping the company’s innovation and renovation strategies, particularly for cost reduction, continuous improvement, and product complexity reduction initiatives across existing and new product portfolios. The role requires close collaboration across group companies, departments, and business units to drive projects that strengthen market competitiveness.
The Assistant Technical Innovation Manager will manage the innovation pipeline from concept to execution. This includes evaluating project feasibility based on technical capability, capital investment, and cost considerations while ensuring that projects are completed within the agreed budget and timeline. The position also involves establishing sustainable product solutions, analyzing emerging trends, and providing insights that assist strategic decision-making and go-to-market strategies.
The role requires establishing a comprehensive development plan in coordination with business units and stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer needs. Liaison with academia and business partners is an integral part of the role, focusing on research collaborations, circular economy initiatives, and adopting the latest trends in product development.
The incumbent will be responsible for identifying improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers, and executing initiatives that incorporate these advancements. The Assistant Technical Innovation Manager will also supervise technical teams in plant operations, maintenance, and documentation, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols, including LOTO and interlock systems.
Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and designing logic for DCS (ABB 800xA), Siemens PLCs, and field instruments, calibrating plant instrumentation, and executing preventive and predictive maintenance plans. The role also encompasses coordinating major overhauls, shutdowns, and routine power plant activities while maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Assistant Technical Innovation Manager – Fiber Category position should meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
