Job Description
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, maintaining, and optimizing automated control systems used within renewable energy operations. The position requires an individual who is not only technically proficient but also capable of analyzing system performance, implementing improvements, and ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and implement PLC programs for renewable energy systems and industrial automation processes.
- Collaborate with design, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate control systems into production and energy management setups.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot automation issues in real time to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
- Participate in control system upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Configure and maintain Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications and SCADA systems.
- Provide technical documentation, reports, and feedback to project managers and engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with local and international electrical and safety standards.
- Conduct functional testing and commissioning of automation systems before deployment.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Automation Engineer position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Education:

Experience:
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience as an Automation Engineer, preferably within the renewable energy or industrial automation sector.
- Proven expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial automation software.
- Experience working with process control systems, electrical drawings, and automation design documentation.
Language Skills:
- Fluency in Dutch (spoken and written) is mandatory for effective communication with the project team and local stakeholders.
- English proficiency is an advantage for reporting and documentation purposes.
Technical Competencies:
- Hands-on experience with automation platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley RSLogix, or Schneider EcoStruxure.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex system issues.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
