With a hands-on technical team and a customer-centric approach, Pacific Marine ensures that every job—whether it’s a minor field calibration or a full vessel automation overhaul—is handled with professionalism and care.

One of the distinguishing features of Pacific Marine is its emphasis on responsive service delivery. Clients in the marine and offshore sectors often operate under tight schedules where equipment downtime can result in substantial financial loss. Pacific Marine understands this urgency and offers on-demand technical support, rapid fault diagnosis, and efficient field repairs. The team’s ability to quickly mobilize to client locations across the UAE—whether in ports, shipyards, or offshore rigs—makes them a preferred choice for both emergency and routine service requirements.

In addition to its technical capabilities, Pacific Marine is also committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. All operations are performed under rigorous safety protocols and quality assurance systems. The company ensures that its engineers and technicians undergo continuous training and remain updated on the latest industrial and marine automation technologies.

At its core, Pacific Marine is a people-centric organization. The management believes that the success of any technical company is deeply tied to the skill level, motivation, and professional integrity of its team. Engineers are not just task executors but solution providers, decision-makers, and project collaborators. That’s why the company actively hires individuals who are not only technically sound but also enthusiastic about problem-solving, willing to work in diverse environments, and capable of adapting to the ever-changing landscape of automation technologies.

New hires at Pacific Marine are provided with on-the-job training, exposure to real client projects, and close mentorship from senior engineers. Junior team members are encouraged to participate in cross-functional tasks, from troubleshooting to documentation and client reporting. This results in an integrated learning experience where engineers grow not just in their core area of expertise but in related domains as well.

With offices and workshops located across major UAE cities, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the company has positioned itself close to its clients and partners. This regional proximity allows for seamless service delivery and efficient resource mobilization. Moreover, the UAE’s position as a regional logistics and maritime hub gives Pacific Marine a significant edge in expanding its operations to nearby Gulf countries.

In summary, Pacific Marine UAE is not just an automation service provider—it’s a growing ecosystem of engineers, field technicians, marine specialists, and strategic thinkers. The company takes pride in delivering practical, safe, and timely solutions that help vessels, plants, and industrial systems operate at their best. For aspiring engineers who want to be part of a field-focused, technically engaging, and professionally supportive environment, Pacific Marine presents an ideal place to start or grow their careers.

Job Description

Pacific Marine UAE is currently looking for a qualified and motivated Automation Engineer to join their growing technical team. The role is full-time and based in the United Arab Emirates. It offers an opportunity for young professionals with a background in electrical or instrumentation engineering to gain direct, field-level experience in marine and industrial automation.

As an Automation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to provide support in the installation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of automated control systems on vessels, port equipment, and industrial machinery. You will be required to work with a variety of PLC systems, motor controls, and instrumentation panels across multiple client sites.

Your daily tasks will begin with site visits, either at ports, shipyards, or industrial facilities. Under the supervision of senior engineers or the service manager, you will inspect automation systems, collect technical information, and assist in identifying fault areas. This may involve reading control schematics, tracing signal lines, testing components, or performing system diagnostics using software tools or handheld instruments.

Once the problem is identified, you will participate in the repair, replacement, or reprogramming of the affected system components. This could range from changing a sensor to updating PLC logic or rewiring a terminal strip. Your understanding of ladder logic, signal flow, and instrumentation protocols will be essential during these operations.

The role requires frequent interaction with control systems including Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Delta PLCs, HMI interfaces, sensors, relays, and actuators. You will assist in writing and modifying PLC code to adapt the machine’s behavior according to client needs or updated process requirements. Alongside this, you will also support calibration of instrumentation, particularly for pressure, flow, temperature, and level transmitters used in marine engine rooms or industrial process units.

One of the unique aspects of this position is its direct exposure to marine systems. Unlike standard industrial automation, marine automation involves space constraints, equipment vibration, high humidity, and classification requirements. As part of Pacific Marine, you will be trained to consider these factors while designing or repairing control systems aboard vessels.

In addition to technical duties, you will be required to prepare field reports, log service activities, and maintain documentation for each job. Attention to detail in these reports is crucial, as it forms the basis for client communication, invoicing, and quality audits. You will also contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and checklists for repeat service tasks.

You will be expected to work in a team-oriented setting, but should also be capable of handling individual assignments when needed. Clear communication with colleagues, clients, and suppliers will be a part of your regular workflow. Since many service jobs are time-sensitive, your ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines will be regularly tested.

The job may occasionally involve working during weekends or holidays, especially when dealing with critical ship repairs or plant outages. Flexibility and readiness to respond to urgent service requests are vital traits for success in this role.

For those with a UAE driving license, the job offers additional mobility and independence in reaching service locations. Engineers with personal transportation are often preferred due to the scattered nature of service sites across cities and ports.

In short, this position is best suited for candidates who enjoy hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and learning by doing. It offers a direct pathway to become an automation specialist with exposure to both industrial and marine systems. From wiring control panels to programming a PLC in the engine room of a ship, no two days will be the same—and that’s exactly what makes this job both exciting and rewarding.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Automation Engineer position at Pacific Marine UAE, applicants must fulfill a combination of educational, technical, and personal criteria that align with the demands of field-based automation engineering. The company welcomes early-career professionals with relevant technical qualifications and a strong interest in hands-on work.

Applicants must hold a B.Tech degree or Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), or Instrumentation Engineering. These qualifications must be earned from a recognized institution or polytechnic institute with a curriculum that covers the basics of circuit theory, control systems, microcontrollers, instrumentation, and industrial automation.

Ideal candidates will have 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience, particularly in control system maintenance, panel wiring, instrumentation calibration, or PLC programming. This experience does not necessarily need to be in a marine environment—experience in factories, workshops, or plant automation is also acceptable. However, those with marine experience, even if limited, will be at an advantage.

Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is essential. Candidates should understand ladder logic, I/O addressing, and function blocks. Experience with commonly used PLC brands such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, or Delta will be highly valued. If you have worked on PLC software like TIA Portal, RSLogix, or GX Developer, please be sure to highlight that in your resume.

A working understanding of instrumentation devices is also necessary. You should know how to read and calibrate transmitters, connect 4-20mA loops, troubleshoot sensor outputs, and interpret P&ID drawings. Basic knowledge of fieldbus systems (e.g., Modbus, Profibus) will also strengthen your application.

Electrical safety knowledge is critical. You should be trained in standard troubleshooting practices and be aware of how to safely handle energized panels, relays, and switches. If you’ve received formal electrical safety training or certification, that would be a strong plus.

Candidates with a UAE driving license are highly preferred. Since many jobs require traveling between client sites, having the ability to drive not only adds flexibility but also allows engineers to manage assignments more independently. If you do not currently have a UAE driving license but are eligible to apply for one soon, you may still be considered.

Basic English communication skills are required. Engineers must be able to write clear and structured service reports, communicate with clients, and follow instructions from supervisors. Knowledge of Arabic or Hindi may be helpful for on-site coordination but is not mandatory.

The candidate must be physically fit and willing to work in outdoor or shipboard environments. The job may involve climbing ladders, working in engine rooms, or performing tasks under hot and humid conditions. If you have prior field service experience or are comfortable working in challenging settings, this role will suit you well.

A good attitude is as important as technical skills. Pacific Marine looks for candidates who are punctual, respectful, and willing to learn. This is especially important because engineers often represent the company in front of clients. Professional behavior, reliability, and honesty are highly valued traits.

Lastly, a strong interest in automation and a desire to improve your skills is critical. The company offers exposure to a variety of systems, and candidates who show curiosity and a willingness to ask questions will benefit the most from this role.

In conclusion, Pacific Marine UAE is looking for junior engineers who are serious about building a career in automation. If you have the academic background, basic work experience, and the right attitude, this is a unique opportunity to get real engineering exposure in one of the region’s fastest-growing technical service firms.

Location

The position is based in the United Arab Emirates, with work conducted at client locations across UAE ports, industrial areas, and shipyards.
