Job Description – Automation Project Engineer – Siemens Systems
As an Automation Project Engineer, you will be responsible for executing the entire lifecycle of automation projects based on Siemens platforms. From system architecture and programming to on-site commissioning, you will ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all technical components across Oil & Gas, Water, and District Cooling applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute complete automation project lifecycle using Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC, and PCS 7.
- Design and develop PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, and review I/O lists, control panel designs, and instrumentation.
- Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and complete commissioning of systems at client sites.
- Develop and troubleshoot automation logic for real-time operations and instrumentation.
- Configure and integrate communication protocols like Profibus, Profinet, and Modbus.
- Supervise field activities including panel testing, wiring inspection, and field instrument setup.
- Work under live plant conditions to conduct troubleshooting, system testing, and functional checks.
- Generate complete project documentation, including logic diagrams, electrical drawings, user manuals, and training material.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with ISA, IEC, API, SIL, and ATEX standards.
- Collaborate with internal project teams and client representatives to ensure successful project handover.
Job Description – Automation Proposal Engineer
The Automation Proposal Engineer plays a vital role in project acquisition. This role involves the creation of accurate and competitive technical and commercial proposals for automation projects. You will work closely with the sales team, project managers, and technical engineers to ensure proposals meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents to understand project scope, customer needs, and technical requirements.
- Prepare technical write-ups, methodology documents, execution schedules, and pricing sheets for proposals.
- Develop estimates for labor, materials, and engineering services including subcontracting scope.
- Liaise with vendors and internal teams for pricing, equipment selection, and lead times.
- Create preliminary designs and technical submittals that align with client expectations and system limitations.
- Coordinate with sales and engineering for clarifications and proposal revisions.
- Attend client meetings and technical discussions to present proposals when needed.
- Keep proposal documentation organized, accurate, and compliant with bid requirements.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience:
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience with system integrators in automation project execution.
- Prior experience in Oil & Gas, Water, or District Cooling projects is essential.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC, PCS 7, and Autodesk tools.
- Knowledge of field instrumentation and electrical/control panel integration.
- Skilled in real-time field commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with ISA, IEC, API, ATEX, and SIL compliance is a strong plus.

Automation Proposal Engineer
Education:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in automation proposal and estimation, preferably with a system integrator.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading technical documents, system architectures, and automation schematics.
- Familiarity with proposal pricing tools, estimation methods, and contractual documentation.
- Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, DCS, BMS, and instrumentation used in industrial applications.
Soft Skills:
- Attention to detail in documentation and quotation drafting.
