Job Description

The Contract PLC Programmer role involves working on automation projects at Ford and Lucid Motors production facilities. Candidates will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and commissioning PLC systems used in automotive manufacturing lines.

Key responsibilities include developing PLC logic using platforms such as Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, or Mitsubishi, depending on project requirements. You will create control sequences that coordinate machinery, sensors, conveyors, and robotics to ensure smooth and reliable operation. A solid understanding of industrial communication protocols, safety circuits, and HMI integration is essential.

During project execution, you will collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure all systems function seamlessly. You will also participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning phases, verifying that automation systems meet performance and safety standards.

This role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as you will be expected to diagnose and resolve control issues that may arise during system integration or production startup. You will also be involved in modifying existing PLC programs to accommodate process improvements or equipment changes.
