As we expand our data engineering capacity, we’re inviting enthusiastic fresh graduates and final-year students to join our Data Engineer Internship Program. This 3-month paid internship is designed to equip you with hands-on experience in modern data technologies, cloud platforms, and automation tools. More than just an internship, it’s a potential pathway to a full-time role.
2. Job Description
We’re excited to announce an opening for a Data Engineer Intern at our Lahore office. This is your chance to work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to projects that involve handling massive volumes of data using modern tools and technologies.
As a Data Engineer Intern, you’ll be involved in every stage of the data lifecycle—from data ingestion and transformation to deployment and monitoring. You will gain exposure to data infrastructure tools such as Airflow, Spark, and cloud-based systems including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Build and Maintain ETL Pipelines: You will help develop and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines to support data processing needs.
- Python and PySpark Development: You’ll write Python and PySpark scripts to clean, format, and analyze large datasets, ensuring performance and accuracy.
- Airflow Workflow Creation: As part of our automation process, you will help design and schedule workflows using Apache Airflow.
- Cloud Integration: Learn how to deploy pipelines and manage data workflows on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Data Quality & Validation: Assist in implementing checks and monitoring strategies to ensure the reliability and integrity of processed data.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including analysts and DevOps to solve real-world business problems.
- Documentation: Maintain clear, concise documentation of code, configurations, and procedures.
This internship is a valuable opportunity to work in a supportive learning environment while making a meaningful impact on production-level systems. You’ll receive close mentorship from senior data engineers and have a chance to explore different data domains including machine learning pipelines and analytics automation.
3. Eligibility Criteria
We are looking for enthusiastic, driven, and tech-savvy individuals who are either fresh graduates or in the final year of their studies. While prior work experience is not required, a willingness to learn and a strong foundation in relevant skills is essential.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or final semester) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a closely related field.
Technical Skills:
- Python: Basic knowledge of Python programming is necessary for scripting and working with data.
- SQL: Understanding of writing queries to extract and manipulate data.
- ETL Concepts: Familiarity with the process of data extraction, transformation, and loading is important.
- PySpark: Exposure to PySpark or other big data tools is a plus.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience or coursework related to AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly preferred.
- Airflow: Any prior interaction with Apache Airflow for workflow scheduling is a bonus.
- TensorFlow or Machine Learning Libraries: Optional, but beneficial for those interested in learning data science pipelines in the future.
