Job Description
The Deputy Manager / Manager Industrial Engineering – Denim Plant is a senior role designed for highly experienced professionals in the denim industry, particularly those with expertise in managing laundry, laser, dry, and finishing processes. This position is responsible for leading the Industrial Engineering Department, focusing on efficiency, capacity utilization, manpower planning, and workflow optimization. The incumbent will also play a strategic role in aligning production processes with customer expectations, sustainability goals, and long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Capacity and Demand Planning
- Develop and manage production demand plans for laundry, laser, dry, and finishing departments.
- Conduct detailed capacity evaluations to align resources with forecasted production volumes.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks in production demand through contingency planning and scenario analysis.
- Equipment and Layout Management
- Assess, recommend, and optimize machinery for maximum performance across laundry, laser, and finishing operations.
- Validate and adjust cycle times for wet processes, dry processes, and finishing stages.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure efficient plant layouts that reduce workflow complexity and maximize productivity.
- Process Optimization and Lean Manufacturing
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Develop innovative techniques to simplify operations in laundry and finishing, reducing cycle times while maintaining compliance with international quality standards.
- Monitor operational efficiency and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Manpower Planning and Training
- Forecast manpower requirements based on demand plans and ensure adequate staffing in critical operations.
- Develop manpower skill matrices to track and enhance technical competencies across departments.
- Conduct skill evaluations for newly hired operators and design multi-skilling training programs.
- Build a culture of continuous learning by training staff on best practices and emerging technologies.
- Quality Assurance and Customer Compliance
