Job Description

Position Title: Electrical Engineer
Project: Sewerage System and Filtration Plant
Department: Engineering & Technical Services
Employer: Matracon Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.

As an Electrical Engineer, your role will be central to the successful design, execution, automation, and commissioning of a complex water infrastructure project that involves both sewerage and filtration processes. You will work directly with the site team, project consultants, electrical subcontractors, and automation specialists to ensure the proper installation and functionality of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design Review:
Analyze and evaluate detailed electrical engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment layouts for sewage and water treatment plants. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the design matches both operational requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • HT/LT System Integration:
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) electrical systems that power treatment plant equipment including pumps, motors, filtration units, and blowers.
  • Automation and SCADA Implementation:
Collaborate with automation engineers to implement SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems that monitor and control plant operations. Your role includes reviewing the logic behind control systems, integrating PLCs, and conducting system checks for real-time monitoring.
  • Control Panel Execution:
Supervise the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels for field instruments and motorized equipment. Ensure compliance with international electrical standards and project specifications.
  • Water Meter Integration:
Support the electrical aspects of water metering systems including sensors, data transmitters, and network connectivity required for flow rate monitoring, quality control, and usage analytics.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance Planning:
Identify system faults during installation or testing and recommend/implement corrective actions. Propose preventive maintenance schedules for long-term system efficiency and reliability.
  • On-Site Supervision:
Provide day-to-day site supervision of all electrical installations. Ensure contractors follow safety protocols, correct installation methods, and maintain quality workmanship.
  • Team Collaboration:
Work in close coordination with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to align timelines, resolve field conflicts, and deliver integrated project phases on schedule.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, installations, and test results. Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and handover documentation for internal and client records.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
Attend technical review meetings, provide inputs on electrical systems, and communicate with clients or regulatory authorities when required.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
Ensure that all electrical activities follow company HSE policies. Participate in site HSE training, toolbox talks, and audits.

What Makes This Job Unique:

This role offers more than just a typical electrical engineering job. It involves working on a complex utility project with real-world impact—helping provide clean water and sanitary systems to communities. You will deal with field realities, adapt engineering design into practice, and contribute toward automation-driven infrastructure—a skill set that’s increasingly in demand both nationally and globally.

This is also an opportunity to grow under experienced professionals, build expertise in SCADA and smart utility systems, and establish your presence in the highly impactful domain of municipal infrastructure.

The position is demanding and requires precision, accountability, and initiative. However, it also provides a solid career launchpad for young engineers or mid-level professionals looking to strengthen their field exposure.
