Job Description
The role of Electrical Safety Officer at Industrial Electrical Projects Co. (IEPC), Kuwait, is a crucial position that directly impacts the company’s operational excellence and commitment to workplace safety. As part of the electrical projects team, the selected candidate will oversee safety compliance, supervise maintenance activities, and ensure strict adherence to both local and international electrical safety codes.
An Electrical Safety Officer serves as the backbone of safety management in high-risk environments, particularly when working with LV/MV switchgear and distribution transformers. The officer not only monitors day-to-day operations but also leads preventive strategies to avoid hazards and ensures that technical staff are consistently trained in safety protocols.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safety Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all maintenance and operational activities related to electrical systems follow Kuwait’s electrical safety standards, in addition to global best practices.
- Supervision of Switchgear Maintenance: Oversee the servicing and troubleshooting of low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear systems, ensuring that all safety measures are implemented during maintenance.
- Transformer Maintenance: Supervise the preventive and corrective maintenance of distribution and power transformers, ensuring reliability while minimizing risks.

- Isolation & Energization Procedures: Work closely with the maintenance team to manage the safe isolation, testing, and energization of electrical systems.
- Incident Investigation: Lead post-incident investigations, identify root causes, and establish corrective/preventive measures to avoid future accidents.
- Training & Development: Conduct safety training sessions for maintenance personnel to enhance awareness and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Eligibility Criteria

- Educational Requirements:
- A Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- Additional certifications in electrical safety, workplace safety, or NEBOSH/OSHA will be considered an advantage.
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, safety compliance, and switchgear/transformer systems.
- Experience in high-voltage/medium-voltage systems will be highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
