Job Description
The Finance Intern role at Shanghai Electric is designed to cover a wide range of accounting and finance functions. Interns will begin by assisting with basic accounting tasks, including daily bill sorting, voucher entry, and account reconciliation. They will also help review reimbursement documents for compliance and ensure that accounting vouchers, contracts, receipts, and other financial records are properly archived.
Another key responsibility will be data entry and processing, where interns will use MS Excel and financial software to conduct data input, perform statistical analysis, and assist in preliminary financial assessments. In addition, they will support tax filing activities, including preparing VAT and other declarations under supervision.
The intern will also assist with banking operations, including bank account opening procedures, fund transfers, reconciliations, and cash inventories. They will contribute to preparing financial statistical reports, drafting management summaries, and supporting financial statement preparation.
Beyond daily responsibilities, the role includes interdepartmental collaboration to gather, verify, and reconcile financial data. Interns will also assist in audit coordination with local finance teams for the 2025 financial statement audit. Finally, they may take part in ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by supervisors, allowing them to gain well-rounded exposure to finance and operations.
