Job Offering Company Introduction – Orange Line Metro Rail

The Orange Line Metro Rail Transit System, also known as the Lahore Orange Line, is Pakistan’s premier urban transit system, a part of the larger China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The project was initiated as a collaboration between the Government of Punjab and Chinese firms such as China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) and China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO). Operational control is currently managed in partnership with Guangzhou Metro Group, one of China’s most experienced transit operators, and Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service Ltd., a well-known name in Pakistan’s intercity and mass transit services.

With an investment of over $1.6 billion, the Orange Line features the latest standards in mass rapid transit infrastructure. It is designed to transport over 250,000 passengers daily, with expected scalability to serve even more as urbanization in Lahore increases. The line has been strategically developed to cover dense urban corridors, linking commuters with important residential, commercial, and institutional areas.

The Orange Line is equipped with fully automated, driverless electric trains, air-conditioned stations, elevators, and real-time control centers — all powered through environmentally conscious systems including regenerative braking and energy-efficient lighting. The entire line is monitored using intelligent transportation systems and closed-circuit surveillance to ensure commuter safety and efficiency.

Operational maintenance, signaling, and communications are handled through highly specialized control centers modeled on international best practices. As the project matures, its management is investing in developing local talent capable of understanding and maintaining these high-tech systems. That’s where the Graduate Trainee Engineer & Officer Program 2025 comes in.

This structured training and development initiative is meant to groom the next generation of transit leaders, engineers, and business support professionals. Through rotational assignments, hands-on exposure, and mentorship, the program offers not just employment but a platform for long-term growth in public transportation, infrastructure management, and public policy domains.

By working within this iconic initiative, selected trainees will be contributing to a cleaner, more efficient, and more connected Pakistan.
