Job Offering Company Introduction
RAG Process LLC is an engineering, procurement, and construction management company operating primarily in the oil and gas sector. Headquartered in Humble, Texas, and founded in 2009, the company provides EPCM services for natural gas processing and production facilities. Over the years, it has developed capabilities that allow it to handle projects from feasibility studies through commissioning and operational support.
RAG Process LLC focuses on delivering complete lifecycle solutions. Its EPCM scope includes project management, conceptual and basic engineering, detailed design, procurement support, construction management, commissioning, start-up, and operations and maintenance guidance. Rather than limiting services to a single technical domain, the company integrates multiple disciplines to deliver coordinated project execution.
The company’s engineering scope covers process engineering, mechanical design, civil and structural engineering, electrical systems, and instrumentation and automation. Additional services include drafting, quality assurance, health and safety management, and regulatory compliance. This multidisciplinary environment means engineers working at RAG Process LLC are exposed to cross-functional collaboration and integrated plant execution strategies.
RAG Process LLC has experience supporting natural gas processing plants, LPG extraction units, condensate and oil stabilization facilities, NGL recovery systems, compression packages, and LNG terminals. Its projects may include standalone equipment as well as complete process trains. This wide scope makes instrumentation, control, and electrical integration a core requirement in nearly every assignment.
The company emphasizes practical execution in oil refineries, storage and transfer facilities, and gas processing infrastructure. Because these facilities handle volatile hydrocarbons, control systems and electrical safety integration are critical. Proper instrumentation and control ensure safe startup, stable production, and emergency response capability.
As part of its continued growth and project expansion, RAG Process LLC is hiring an Instrumentation, Control & Electrical Engineer for its Lahore operations. Although headquartered in Texas, the company operates internationally and supports projects across multiple regions. The Lahore role is aligned with EPC project activities in the oil and gas and process industry sector.
The position is intended for engineers with three to five years of experience in PLC and DCS systems, especially within refinery, petrochemical, or fertilizer plants such as ammonia, urea, or NPK facilities. These plant types require advanced process control, safety interlocks, and structured commissioning procedures.
RAG Process LLC expects its IC&E engineers to contribute across the EPC lifecycle. From detailed design to commissioning and startup, instrumentation and control integration is central to plant reliability. Engineers working in this capacity support both design documentation and field implementation, making the role technically demanding.
This hiring reflects the company’s need for professionals prepared for site execution challenges. Engineers must be ready to supervise installations, handle calibration tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and resolve system integration issues during commissioning phases.
Job Description
The IC&E Engineer will support the instrumentation, control, and electrical scope across the full EPC lifecycle. This includes involvement from detailed engineering through commissioning and startup.
A major responsibility involves configuring, programming, and testing PLC and DCS systems. The candidate must understand structured programming approaches, ladder logic, function block diagrams, and troubleshooting methodologies within industrial automation environments.
The engineer will develop control philosophies and cause and effect charts. These documents define how systems respond to operational changes or emergency conditions. Understanding process interlocks and trip logic is essential.
Designing, analyzing, and tuning PID control loops is part of the role. Stable control loop performance ensures consistent process conditions in refinery and fertilizer operations.
The engineer will prepare and review key instrumentation documents including P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and instrument index lists. Accurate documentation is necessary to maintain installation consistency.
Reviewing electrical single-line diagrams is also required. Coordination between instrumentation and electrical systems ensures that control panels, power supplies, grounding systems, and communication networks operate without interference.
The role includes supporting implementation of Safety Instrumented Systems, Emergency Shutdown systems, and Fire and Gas systems. These safety layers protect personnel and equipment during abnormal conditions.
Field responsibilities include supervising installation, verifying instrument calibration, managing pre-commissioning tests, and conducting functional testing procedures. Engineers must confirm that field wiring matches design documentation.
Coordination with process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines is essential. Integrated project execution requires constant communication across departments.
Participation in vendor technical reviews is also part of the position. The IC&E Engineer will review vendor packages to verify compliance with design requirements and standards.
The candidate must ensure compliance with IEC, ISA, NEC, and API standards when developing or reviewing designs.
This is a role suited for engineers who can balance design precision with field practicality.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have three to five years of experience in instrumentation, control, and electrical engineering within EPC projects.
Hands-on experience with PLC and DCS systems is required.
Experience in refinery, petrochemical, or fertilizer plants such as ammonia, urea, or NPK facilities is preferred.
The candidate should be capable of developing control logic, FDS documents, and cause and effect matrices.
Practical experience with loop tuning, troubleshooting, and interlock configuration is required.
Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems and emergency shutdown systems is essential.
Applicants should be familiar with reviewing P&IDs, loop diagrams, and SLDs.
Experience supervising site installation and commissioning is required.
Understanding of international standards such as IEC, ISA, NEC, and API is necessary.
Strong coordination skills and readiness for field assignments are expected.
