Job Description
The role of Industrial Engineer at Forward Group is ideal for someone who is process-oriented, analytical, and driven to achieve operational efficiency. This is not a desk job—it involves working hands-on in production environments, interacting with employees at various levels, and being part of key decision-making processes that shape how the company functions on a daily basis.
The central focus of the job is to evaluate existing manufacturing practices and identify areas where performance, productivity, and output can be improved. Whether it is optimizing a workstation layout or determining a more cost-effective way of producing a component, the Industrial Engineer will play a vital role in building systems that support lean production.
One of the first responsibilities will be to assess the current production schedules. The aim here is to align these schedules with demand forecasts, machine availability, labor capacity, and material lead times. It’s not simply about following schedules, but ensuring that they are realistic, achievable, and resource-optimized. A well-managed production schedule reduces downtime, avoids bottlenecks, and increases throughput.
Another important aspect is improving the efficiency of individual production processes. This includes analyzing tasks, identifying redundant movements, measuring cycle times, and reducing variability in outcomes. The job requires using tools such as time-motion studies, process flow diagrams, and cause-effect analyses to determine which parts of the workflow can be streamlined.
A key part of this role is to evaluate employee tasks and responsibilities. This goes beyond observation—it involves asking questions, understanding challenges, and identifying opportunities to either retrain, reorganize or provide better tools to the workforce. If a task is taking longer than expected, the Industrial Engineer is expected to find out why and recommend a data-backed solution.
Communication plays a central role in this job. The selected candidate will be required to regularly interact with senior management and cross-functional teams. Together, they will develop production standards, review project timelines, and assess the effectiveness of implemented changes. Collaboration is essential—not just for generating ideas, but for turning those ideas into practical, measurable improvements.
Another responsibility includes designing efficient workflows, factory layouts, and operational systems. The engineer will work closely with maintenance, planning, and operations departments to ensure that the floor layout facilitates smooth movement of materials and labor. Proper layout design can cut travel time, reduce inventory holding, and ensure better safety.
Cross-functional collaboration is expected. The Industrial Engineer will be part of process improvement initiatives, often working with production supervisors, maintenance teams, quality engineers, and supply chain managers. Whether it’s automating a part of the assembly line or implementing a new documentation procedure, the Industrial Engineer is expected to provide technical support, coordination, and performance evaluation.
To support decision-making, the candidate will also conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and KPI reviews. These evaluations help determine machine efficiency, labor utilization, production delays, and overall output quality. From daily data collection to monthly performance reviews, the Industrial Engineer is expected to be at the center of continuous feedback loops that drive improvement.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving problems and wants to make a tangible difference in how things operate. The job offers a blend of theory and practice, where you are expected to think critically and act practically. You will have the opportunity to build processes from scratch, influence policy, and drive efficiency—all while learning the foundations of world-class industrial operations.
Eligibility Criteria
Forward Group is inviting applications from fresh graduates who are eager to start their careers in industrial engineering. - Knowledge of time and motion studies, capacity planning, and performance metrics.
- Basic knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in industrial settings.
Interpersonal Skills
Success in this role depends heavily on how well the candidate communicates and collaborates:
- Ability to work in teams, especially cross-functional teams where ideas and priorities may differ.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey findings, report issues, and suggest improvements.
- Willingness to listen to floor workers, understand their challenges, and suggest practical solutions.
- Confidence to present findings to management and defend proposed process improvements using logic and data.
Attitude and Work Ethic
The Industrial Engineer will be exposed to real-time production scenarios. Hence, the company seeks candidates with:
- A problem-solving attitude, able to view challenges as opportunities.
- High levels of curiosity and observation, willing to spend time understanding how each operation works.
- Patience and attention to detail, as improvements often require trial, feedback, and repetition.
- A growth mindset—someone who seeks to learn from feedback and wants to grow into a leadership role over time.
Technical Tools (Preferred but Not Mandatory)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
- Exposure to ERP systems or production scheduling software.
- Awareness of statistical process control and quality management tools.
This job offers a steep learning curve, but also high growth potential. Forward Group is known for grooming fresh talent into managerial roles within 3–5 years. Those who demonstrate initiative, discipline, and performance can expect rotational training, leadership programs, and the chance to work on high-impact projects.
