Job Description
Position: Instrumentation & Control Commissioning Engineer
CSS Middle East is hiring a skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Control Commissioning Engineer for an upcoming Iron Ore Pelletizing Plant Project. The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all instrumentation and automation systems perform reliably and according to design standards.
This role requires a strong understanding of PLC, SCADA, DCS systems, and field instrumentation calibration. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform comprehensive loop checks, verify control logic, and ensure seamless system commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform calibration, configuration, and functional testing of field instruments, control valves, transmitters, and sensors.
- Execute loop checks to validate signal integrity and verify complete control loop performance.
- Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, instrument datasheets, and control logic diagrams.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and control issues during commissioning and start-up.
- Ensure compliance with project design specifications, safety standards, and QA/QC requirements.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure integrated commissioning.
- Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation and test reports.
- Validate automation sequences and ensure optimal performance under live conditions.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies throughout all activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in instrumentation commissioning, preferably in heavy industrial or process plant environments (iron, steel, or oil & gas sectors).
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of PLC/DCS/SCADA systems (Siemens, ABB, or Yokogawa preferred).
- Expertise in instrument calibration, loop testing, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with field devices, analyzers, and transmitters.
- Ability to interpret instrumentation layouts, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and commissioning protocols.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
