Job Description
Alderley Industrial Company is currently hiring a Junior Automation Engineer – Control Systems to join its Commissioning and Control (Q&C) team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This role offers young engineers the chance to develop their expertise under the mentorship of senior engineers while contributing to real-world projects.
As a Junior Automation Engineer, you will be directly involved in the design, development, and testing of automation systems that are integral to the operation of advanced liquid and gas metering solutions. Your responsibilities will include programming, troubleshooting, and validating control systems, ensuring smooth and reliable functionality at all stages of project execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and supporting PLC and SCADA systems such as Citect SCADA, Allen-Bradley, and Schneider PLCs.
- Troubleshooting automation logic, scripts, and control systems to ensure reliability and performance.
- Conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to validate automation equipment and control panels.
- Assisting with the preparation of Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and developing system architecture documentation.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, commissioning, and project management, to deliver on-time solutions.
- Supporting integration and testing activities to optimize automation system performance.
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the role of Junior Automation Engineer – Control Systems at Alderley Industrial Company, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in automation engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Citect SCADA.
- Practical knowledge of PLC programming, especially with Allen-Bradley and Schneider platforms.
- Experience in troubleshooting, debugging, and maintaining control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior involvement in Citect SCADA project implementation.
- Familiarity with creating Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and system architecture documentation.
- Exposure to large-scale automation projects in oil, gas, or industrial sectors.
