To support its growing operations, Utopia Industries is seeking a Maintenance Manager for its CTP automation lines, including Auto Hemming, Slitting, and Cutting processes. This role is critical for maintaining machine reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring seamless production.

Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance activities for Utopia Industries’ CTP automation lines. This includes Auto Hemming, Slitting, and Cutting lines that are integral to the company’s production workflow. The primary objective of this role is to maximize machine availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve overall equipment reliability.

The selected candidate will lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance efforts. They will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence. The manager will also oversee the installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new machinery, ensuring smooth integration into the production system.

Managing a team of maintenance engineers and technicians is a critical aspect of this role. The Maintenance Manager will coordinate shifts, ensure skill development, and monitor performance to achieve operational targets. They will control maintenance costs, monitor spare parts inventory, and implement efficiency improvements across the department.

Key responsibilities include tracking maintenance KPIs such as machine availability, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), and cost per component. The manager will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure that all machines operate optimally while meeting production goals and quality standards.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in mechanical synchronization, motion control, and automation systems. Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo motors, PLCs, pneumatics, and other industrial automation technologies is essential. The Maintenance Manager will play a pivotal role in sustaining the company’s competitive edge by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of its automated production lines.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for this position must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics from a recognized institution. The ideal candidate should possess 8 to 12 years of experience in automation maintenance, preferably within textile or industrial manufacturing environments.

Applicants must have demonstrated expertise in maintaining automated production lines and industrial machinery, including VFDs, servo drives, PLCs, and pneumatic systems. They should have strong skills in mechanical synchronization, motion control, and troubleshooting complex automation setups.

Proven experience in leading maintenance teams and managing multi-shift operations is required. Candidates must possess problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and the capability to implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies effectively. Strong communication skills are necessary to coordinate with cross-functional teams, manage external service providers, and report maintenance performance metrics to senior management.
