Job Description
The Management Trainee Officer – Compliance at Nishat Chunian Ltd. plays a key supporting role in ensuring that the company’s spinning operations align with national regulations, international standards, and internal compliance protocols. It is an office-based role with field visits as needed and is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in environmental and operational compliance within the textile sector.
This role involves working closely with the compliance team to implement, monitor, and evaluate all operational activities related to regulatory standards. You’ll be directly contributing to internal audit processes, recordkeeping, documentation, and communication with both internal stakeholders and third-party auditors.
As a Management Trainee, your first few months will involve structured orientation and on-the-job training to familiarize you with the company’s compliance infrastructure, certification needs, and standard operating procedures. You’ll learn how the compliance function integrates with departments such as production, health & safety, quality assurance, and HR.
Key responsibilities of this role include assisting the compliance team in organizing and conducting internal audits of spinning operations. These audits are designed to identify non-conformities and help develop strategies to resolve them quickly and sustainably. You’ll participate in inspections, review logs, gather evidence, and work on developing action plans based on findings.
Another key task will be maintaining accurate and timely records of compliance activities. This includes organizing audit reports, certifications, meeting notes, checklists, and correspondence related to third-party inspections or regulatory authorities. Your documentation skills will be crucial in ensuring that the company is always audit-ready and can demonstrate compliance at any point.
As a trainee, you’ll also contribute to the development and refinement of compliance training programs for factory employees and supervisors. This will involve preparing presentations, posters, SOP manuals, and training session materials that raise awareness about compliance expectations, safety standards, and reporting protocols.
In this role, you will be expected to stay updated on local environmental and safety laws, textile industry regulations, and the certifications relevant to spinning operations such as ISO 14001, Oeko-Tex, and WRAP. You’ll also gain exposure to buyer-specific compliance requirements, which often come with additional documentation and inspection guidelines.
A typical week in the life of an MTO – Compliance may include:
- Assisting in compliance walkthroughs and factory inspections
- Reviewing last audit findings and following up on corrective actions
- Participating in training or awareness sessions conducted for staff
- Organizing data for upcoming compliance audits
- Coordinating with HR and Production teams to implement compliance procedures
- Assisting in developing SOPs or revising existing compliance manuals
- Preparing documentation for submission to third-party auditors
This is a high-responsibility role, as the consequences of non-compliance can include reputational damage, financial penalties, and order cancellations. However, the learning curve is equally rewarding. Fresh graduates will quickly learn how compliance interconnects with operations, sustainability, and quality control. You’ll also gain firsthand experience in audit preparation, documentation best practices, and communication with factory teams.

Candidates with a degree in a related field with coursework in compliance, sustainability, environmental management, or industrial processes may also be considered. Preference will be given to those who have taken courses in ISO standards, environmental laws, safety engineering, or audit methodologies.
In terms of work experience, the company welcomes fresh graduates or individuals with up to 1 year of relevant experience in the textile or manufacturing industry. Internship experience related to compliance, documentation, or quality control will be a plus. However, the absence of hands-on work experience will not be a barrier for candidates who demonstrate a strong academic background and passion for the role.
