Job Description

The Management Trainee Officer – Industrial Engineering role is designed for individuals who want to develop practical industrial engineering skills within a live textile manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will work closely with the Industrial Engineering team and support daily IE activities across production lines.

The trainee will assist in conducting work studies and observing production operations to understand existing methods, process flows, and labor utilization. This includes learning how tasks are broken down, timed, and analyzed to identify inefficiencies or improvement opportunities.

A key responsibility of this role involves supporting line balancing exercises. The trainee will learn how to study work content, identify bottlenecks, redistribute tasks, and align manpower with production targets to improve line efficiency. These activities help maintain consistent output and reduce idle time within manufacturing lines.

The trainee will also assist in calculating Standard Minute Values (SMVs) for various operations. This includes learning how to observe processes, take accurate time measurements, and apply standard calculation methods. Understanding SMVs is essential for capacity planning, costing, and efficiency analysis.

Productivity monitoring will be another important area of learning. The trainee will support daily efficiency reporting, production summaries, and basic performance analysis using MS Excel. This data helps management evaluate production performance and take corrective actions where required.

Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts will be provided during the training period. The trainee may participate in improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving workflow, and enhancing overall production performance under supervision.

The role also includes coordination with production supervisors, planning teams, and quality departments to understand how industrial engineering decisions impact overall plant performance. This cross-functional exposure is critical for developing a holistic understanding of manufacturing operations.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the MTO – Industrial Engineering position must meet the following eligibility requirements.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Production Engineering or Textile Engineering from a recognized institution. This position is suitable for fresh graduates as well as candidates with up to one year of relevant experience.

Candidates should possess basic academic knowledge of industrial engineering concepts such as work study, method analysis, line balancing, productivity measurement, and efficiency calculation. Practical exposure through internships or academic projects will be considered an advantage.
