Job Description
The role of Management Trainee Officer (MTO) – Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at Bulleh Packaging is structured to prepare fresh graduates for a professional career in chemical engineering and environmental management. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of senior engineers and environmental specialists to learn the essential functions of wastewater treatment in an industrial setting.
Key responsibilities will include supporting daily plant operations, conducting laboratory testing of influent and effluent water samples, monitoring chemical dosing, and analyzing treatment efficiency. The MTO will be expected to observe and document operating parameters, ensuring that all systems run smoothly and efficiently. The role also includes assisting with preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting minor operational issues, and coordinating with the maintenance department where required.
The trainee will also gain exposure to regulatory compliance, safety procedures, and environmental reporting. Bulleh Packaging places a strong emphasis on aligning operations with sustainability goals, so the MTO will be actively involved in initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
This position is not limited to technical tasks. The MTO will also participate in training sessions, workshops, and team projects designed to improve communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. By the end of the training period, the candidate will have developed a strong foundation in effluent treatment plant operations, enabling them to take on independent responsibilities in the future.
The MTO role is particularly well-suited for graduates who are eager to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical applications in industrial environments. It provides real-world exposure, structured mentoring, and the chance to work on impactful sustainability projects.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the role of MTO–ETP, candidates must hold a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university. This academic qualification ensures that applicants have the necessary foundation in chemistry, fluid mechanics, process engineering, and environmental systems to understand and operate wastewater treatment processes.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, and preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a keen interest in environmental and sustainability-related fields. Additional criteria that strengthen an application include:
- Completion of Environmental Engineering as an elective course during studies. This highlights the applicant’s interest and relevant academic preparation in wastewater management and pollution control.
- A Final Year Project (FYP) focused on environmental processes, effluent treatment, or industrial waste management. This indicates practical research and application of knowledge in real-world environmental problems.
- Internship experience at an ETP, environmental plant, or wastewater treatment facility, which provides prior exposure and practical understanding of treatment systems, compliance requirements, and process challenges.
Beyond academic and project-based qualifications, the company looks for candidates who display strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and adaptability. Since the role involves working in an industrial setting, the ability to follow safety protocols, communicate effectively with team members, and manage responsibilities with attention to detail are essential qualities.
A passion for sustainability, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude will make candidates stand out in the selection process. Bulleh Packaging is committed to training and development, so applicants who show eagerness to grow and contribute to the company’s mission of environmental stewardship will be highly valued.
