Job Description

The MTO / Trainee Engineer Program 2025 at Bestway Cement is a flagship initiative designed to attract and train fresh graduates in technical and business disciplines. This full-time program spans multiple functional areas, offering structured learning experiences, department rotations, and hands-on exposure at plant sites and the head office.

Participants will gain insights into Management best practices that drive efficiency and productivity.

The program is designed to develop high-potential individuals by immersing them in real business challenges and engineering operations from the outset. Selected candidates will be placed in departments based on their educational background and organizational requirements. The roles are categorized as follows:

Engineering Disciplines:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineering

As a Trainee Engineer, you will be placed in one of the plant locations where you will work under senior plant engineers and operations teams. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in daily plant operations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Supporting commissioning and optimization of machinery
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as kiln efficiency, power usage, and production targets
  • Learning plant automation systems and process instrumentation
  • Participating in environmental compliance, waste heat recovery, and emissions control programs
  • Documenting processes, SOPs, and maintenance logs

This exposure provides a complete picture of cement manufacturing—from raw material handling to clinker formation to packaging and dispatch.

Science & Technology Disciplines:

  • Chemistry
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Computer Science (CS)

Chemistry graduates will be involved in quality assurance labs, assisting in raw material testing, cement grade analysis, and compliance certifications. IT and CS graduates will support internal ERP systems, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting IT helpdesk functions at plant and corporate level
  • Assisting in database maintenance, user training, and digital transformation projects
  • Contributing to software upgrades, IT compliance, and automation dashboards

Business and Support Functions:

  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Marketing
  • Accounting & Finance
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Chartered Accountancy (CA) / ACCA

Business-side MTOs will be inducted into the corporate departments in Islamabad and may rotate across plants. Responsibilities vary by function:

In HR:

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisal coordination
  • Support HRIS, employee engagement programs, and policy documentation
  • Prepare employee files, training schedules, and compliance reports

In Marketing:

  • Conduct market and competitor analysis
  • Support brand development campaigns and trade events
  • Contribute to internal marketing, corporate branding, and digital outreach

In Finance / ACCA / CA:

  • Assist in budgeting, reporting, and audit documentation
  • Support accounts payable/receivable, tax filing, and reconciliations
  • Learn SAP/ERP modules related to finance

In Supply Chain:

  • Work on procurement, inventory management, logistics, and vendor assessments
  • Analyze supply chain bottlenecks and optimize lead times
  • Participate in negotiations and process improvements

Each MTO/Trainee is assigned a functional mentor, receives regular feedback, and undergoes skill-based assessments. The company encourages cross-functional learning, which means you may shadow other departments to develop a broader perspective.

This program also includes key Management training to prepare participants for future leadership roles.

In addition to departmental tasks, participants attend technical workshops, soft skills training, and plant/site visits to understand the company’s end-to-end operations. By the end of the program, participants are expected to deliver a final presentation or report highlighting what they’ve learned and how they can contribute to Bestway’s future growth.

Top-performing candidates are offered permanent positions after completion of the program based on organizational needs and individual performance.

Eligibility Criteria

The MTO / Trainee Engineer Program 2025 at Bestway Cement is designed for fresh graduates who are ready to begin their professional careers with a structured learning program. Below is the detailed eligibility framework:

Education:

Understanding Management theories can enhance the performance of fresh graduates in their respective fields.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (16 years of education minimum) in any of the following disciplines:

For Engineering and Technical Roles:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Instrumentation and Control Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • IT / Computer Science

For Business, Finance, and Management Roles:

    • Human Resources (MBA/BBA – HRM)

A focus on Management skills ensures that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges of the industry.

  • Supply Chain (MBA/BBA – SCM)
  • Marketing (MBA/BBA – Marketing)
  • Accounting & Finance (MBA/BBA – Finance)
  • Chartered Accountancy (CAF Qualified / Finalist)
  • ACCA (Qualified / Finalist)

Graduation Year:

  • Must have graduated between 2023 to 2025
  • Final year students awaiting final transcripts may also apply, provided they graduate before August 2025

Experience:

  • Fresh graduates only
  • Candidates with internship experience will be given preference
  • No full-time job experience is required

Skills and Competencies:

Strong Management capabilities are essential for navigating complex business environments.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • For IT roles: familiarity with databases, basic programming, or ERP systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving approach

  • Open to relocation across different plant sites

Location Flexibility:

The program emphasizes the role of effective Management in achieving organizational goals.

Selected candidates must be willing to relocate to one or more of the following Bestway Cement locations during the program:

    • Hattar
    • Farooqia
    • Chakwal

Management skills will be put to the test in real-world situations during the program.
