2. Job Description

UTM Pakistan is currently hiring for the position of Manager Maintenance. This is a full-time, leadership role at the plant level for someone with solid technical knowledge and proven experience in managing large-scale maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment.

The Manager Maintenance will oversee all preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities within the facility. This includes managing utilities systems, automation setups, packaging lines, and general mechanical and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will be expected to implement and monitor strategies that reduce equipment downtime, improve reliability, and increase overall equipment effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance team across all plant areas including utilities, automation, and packaging
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Manage emergency repairs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Oversee maintenance of electrical panels, motors, PLC-controlled systems, and mechanical assemblies
  • Monitor plant KPIs related to uptime, energy usage, equipment life, and cost control
  • Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices and support Lean Manufacturing goals
  • Ensure proper use and documentation of Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS or similar)
  • Develop and train the team, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain safety standards
  • Coordinate with procurement for spare parts inventory and vendor relationships
  • Prepare maintenance reports for senior management and support audits

This position is suitable for candidates who enjoy working in a hands-on capacity while also managing people, processes, and systems for long-term plant efficiency.


3. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering

Experience:

  • At least 8 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of managing plant-level maintenance operations
  • Experience with utilities, packaging lines, and automation systems is essential

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with industrial automation, control systems, and machine diagnostics
  • Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Understanding of safety standards, risk assessments, and energy efficiency practices

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Capable of solving complex technical problems quickly and effectively
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance planning
  • Ability to manage budgets, spare parts inventory, and technical documentation

The ideal candidate is someone who can lead both day-to-day operations and long-term improvements in the maintenance department, with a commitment to operational excellence and staff development.
