Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Labtronic Industries, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of designing and developing educational equipment. This includes creating innovative designs, building 3D models, conducting research, and refining products to ensure functionality and reliability.

The role begins with design and development, where you will conceptualize and create equipment tailored to educational needs. Using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, you will prepare detailed models and drawings that serve as the foundation for manufacturing. Alongside this, research will play an important part, as you evaluate materials, study engineering requirements, and propose solutions that ensure the company’s products remain innovative and effective.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and quality control, to ensure that your designs are practical and meet industry standards. The role also involves troubleshooting design issues, improving existing equipment, and validating products through rigorous testing. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field to apply for this role. A solid academic background in engineering principles, machine design, and material selection is essential.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, with at least 2 years of experience. Additional experience in Adobe Illustrator (minimum 1 year) will be considered an advantage, especially for preparing detailed visual designs. A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in mechanical engineering design and production is required.

Candidates should also be familiar with machining processes, including CNC operations, routers, lathes, drilling, bending presses, and laser cutting. Experience with sheet metal design and production is a must, as it forms a core part of the company’s projects. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems is also required.
