2. Job Description 

Position Title: Trainee Sales & Application Engineer
Job Type: Paid Internship (with a path to permanent employment)
Location: Lahore, Pakistan
Duration: Based on performance; typically 3–6 months

Key Responsibilities:

As a Trainee Sales & Application Engineer, you will work under the supervision of senior technical and sales staff. Your role will combine elements of engineering design, customer interaction, technical proposal writing, and business development. You will support both the pre-sales and post-sales engineering processes and contribute directly to the success of automation projects.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Technical Sales Support: Assist in responding to customer inquiries by analyzing technical specifications and identifying product requirements.
  • Proposal & Quotation Preparation: Help in preparing proposals and commercial quotations based on technical understanding of products and client needs.
  • Customer Visits: Participate in client meetings to understand application challenges, present technical solutions, and conduct product demonstrations.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop in-depth knowledge of control valves, safety valves, and industrial automation tools used across MEC’s portfolio.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with the internal project and engineering team to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of projects.
  • After-Sales Support: Support the technical team in resolving operational challenges and ensure client satisfaction with after-sales service.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, project timelines, sales forecasts, and technical documentation.

3. Eligibility Criteria 

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following educational, technical, and behavioral requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
  • Final year students completing their degree within the next 6 months may also apply

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of instrumentation, valves, and control systems
  • Interest in industrial automation and process engineering
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams, datasheets, and customer requirements
  • Familiarity with proposal writing, MS Office tools, and AutoCAD (optional but a plus)

Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Confidence in presenting technical concepts to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to document technical processes clearly and concisely

Behavioral Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving attitude with a learning mindset
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to take initiative
  • Good interpersonal skills with a collaborative work approach
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn on the job

Experience:

  • No prior experience required, but internships or academic projects in automation, control systems, or industrial instrumentation will be considered favorably

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and practical application

The internship will be based at MEC Pvt Ltd, Lahore, Pakistan.
