As part of our continued operations in Karachi, we are now looking to hire an Operation & Maintenance Electrician for our Korangi-based EV showroom and service center. This role is ideal for a skilled individual with hands-on experience in the electrical maintenance of automobile facilities.

2. Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Electrician who can handle daily electrical responsibilities at our EV showroom and service center in Korangi, Karachi. This role is crucial for the reliable operation of all facility electrical systems, service bays, EV charging equipment, lighting, and general maintenance of electric installations within the premises.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform daily checks and maintenance of all electrical equipment within the showroom and service workshop
Ensure proper functioning of EV charging systems, lighting panels, power backup systems, and general electrical fittings
Conduct preventive maintenance and service logs as per safety and manufacturer guidelines
Respond promptly to any electrical faults or interruptions in showroom or service area operations
Carry out electrical troubleshooting for workshop machinery, diagnostic tools, and customer service stations
Coordinate with service managers and facility supervisors for scheduled maintenance and power needs
Inspect wiring, distribution panels, breakers, and sockets for wear or faults and carry out necessary repairs or replacements
Document all maintenance tasks and report incidents, defects, and material usage regularly
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols while working on live systems, especially in EV environments
Install, test, and monitor electrical systems for new equipment or layout changes as directed by the facility manager
Keep an organized inventory of spare parts and recommend purchase orders where needed
Train junior staff or assistants on basic safety, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment handling if needed
Stay informed about EV electrical requirements, safety advancements, and workshop upgrades

Work Environment:

This is an on-site role requiring daily physical presence at the BYD Showroom & Service Center in Korangi, Karachi. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work within workshop and maintenance zones. Safety gear will be provided, and compliance with company health and safety standards is mandatory at all times.

The candidate will report to the Technical Facility Head and work closely with other workshop technicians, EV service engineers, and showroom operations personnel.

Work Schedule:

6 working days per week
Timings as per service center operations (morning to early evening)
Overtime availability in case of urgent repair or event days

3. Eligibility Criteria

Experience:

Minimum 4 to 5 years of proven hands-on experience in Operations & Maintenance (O&M), preferably in automobile workshops, vehicle service centers, or commercial showroom facilities
Experience with EV systems is a plus, but not mandatory

Education & Certification:

Diploma or certification in Electrical Technology, HVAC with electrical specialization, or related technical trade from a recognized institute
Valid electrician license or registration (if applicable under local law) will be preferred

Technical Skills:

In-depth understanding of electrical systems used in automotive showrooms and service centers
Practical experience in handling distribution panels, industrial sockets, circuit breakers, and load management
Competency in reading wiring diagrams, maintenance charts, and equipment manuals
Ability to perform preventive maintenance and identify potential breakdown points before failure
Capable of using electrical measurement tools like clamp meters, multimeters, insulation testers
Familiarity with safety protocols, PPE usage, and hazard identification in electrical tasks
Knowledge of EV infrastructure (charging stations, battery safety) will be an advantage
