Job Description
The Payable Executive will be responsible for managing and processing all payments within the organization’s finance department. The role involves handling vendor invoices, employee settlements, utilities, and other payable accounts while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement of payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing:
- Prepare and process payments for all general and Cost of Sales (COS) invoices after thorough verification and obtaining required approvals.
- Verify supporting documentation before initiating payments.
- Payment Management:
- Process payments related to utilities, freight vendors, PSIDs issued by the tax team, employee final settlements, provident fund, and gratuity fund.
- Issue vendor and employee advances after ensuring due diligence and proper authorization.
- Reporting & Coordination:
- Prepare and share daily reports with the DGM Payables regarding invoices due for payment.
- Maintain close coordination with internal departments for verification and clearance of payables.
- SAP and Accounting Tasks:
- Book invoices related to utilities, security, vigilance, and fleet cards in SAP after validating their authenticity.
- Assist in posting payment entries, preparing cheques, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Documentation & Audit Compliance:
- Maintain, scan, and archive payment files, vouchers, and cheque copies for proper documentation and future audit requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and internal control procedures.
- Payroll & Employee Claims:
- Coordinate with the third-party payroll vendor for timely processing of outsourced staff salaries.
- Process employee daily claims, settle imprest accounts, and perform petty cash analysis to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Data Entry & Support:
- Perform data entry tasks related to group companies and coordinate with respective departments to ensure timely transaction postings.
- Support finance and audit teams with reconciliations and reporting during monthly and quarterly closings.
This position requires a professional who is proactive, well-organized, and capable of maintaining precision in a high-volume transactional environment.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Payable Executive role at Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd., applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration (with a Finance specialization) from a recognized institution.
- Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in accounts payable, financial operations, or corporate accounting, preferably within the oil & gas or FMCG sectors.
- Fresh graduates with exceptional academic performance and internship experience in finance may also be considered.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Excellent command of MS Excel, particularly in data handling and financial analysis.
- Understanding of payment cycles, internal controls, and accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP).
- Soft Skills:
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
