Job Description
The Plant Safety I/C – HSE – S3 will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the safety culture across Haier’s Lahore manufacturing plant. This position requires a responsible, proactive professional capable of implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols while ensuring compliance with international and corporate standards.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors by enforcing HSE Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), monitoring operations, and ensuring effective emergency preparedness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and inspect assigned areas within the plant to ensure compliance with established safety standards.
- Identify, report, and mitigate potential hazards or unsafe practices promptly.
- Conduct investigations of accidents, incidents, or near-misses in coordination with the Plant Safety Section Head, ensuring that root causes are identified and corrective measures are implemented.
- Carry out regular safety patrols and inspections using standard checklists to evaluate risk and maintain workplace discipline.
- Generate detailed reports highlighting safety observations, improvement areas, and corrective actions.
- Conduct and coordinate HSE training sessions, safety awareness programs, and toolbox talks for employees.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and monitor compliance with HSE protocols.
- Maintain and inspect firefighting systems, extinguishers, alarms, and emergency exits to ensure readiness in case of emergencies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards.
- Verify work permits, ensure adherence to HSE SOPs, and enforce permit-to-work systems for hazardous tasks.
- Support the preparation of documentation for safety audits, compliance reports, and inspections.
- Actively participate in emergency drills, ensuring employees understand evacuation procedures and response strategies.
- Collaborate with the HSE Head to design continuous improvement initiatives aimed at minimizing incidents and improving overall plant safety.
- Maintain confidentiality, discipline, and professionalism while dealing with safety-related documentation and data.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, government regulations, and company policies regarding occupational health and safety.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Minimum FA (Intermediate) qualification. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree along with Safety Certifications (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in industrial safety, preferably within manufacturing or production environments.
- Knowledge Requirements:
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety standards and ISO systems (9001, 14001, 45001).
- Ability to conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
- Familiarity with work permits, hazard identification, and PPE compliance.
- Knowledge of fire prevention systems, emergency response, and first aid.
- Understanding of environmental safety protocols and waste management.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and effectively engage with employees.
- Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and teamwork.
