Job Description
The role of Power System Optimization Developer at ETAP is a specialized opportunity for talented software developers with a strong background in programming, optimization, and power systems engineering. This position is tailored for individuals who can combine expert-level programming skills with an in-depth understanding of electrical engineering concepts to develop advanced optimization modules for ETAP’s world-class software.
As part of the ETAP Optimization Team, the selected candidate(s) will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative algorithms and software tools that enhance ETAP’s optimization capabilities. This includes integrating mathematical optimization techniques into power system simulations, designing efficient algorithms for load flow, and developing modules for optimal power generation, grid reliability, renewable energy integration, and energy management systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Software Development: Writing clean, efficient, and scalable code in C++ and/or C# for ETAP’s optimization platform. Candidates will work on designing user-focused tools that improve the decision-making process for engineers across industries.
- Power System Analysis Integration: Incorporating optimization techniques into ETAP’s existing suite of power system analysis tools, ensuring seamless integration with modules such as load flow, short-circuit, protection, and stability analysis.
- Algorithm Design & Optimization: Developing and implementing algorithms to solve complex optimization problems such as unit commitment, economic dispatch, optimal power flow, and system reliability improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with electrical engineers, data scientists, and user interface designers to ensure that optimization solutions are practical, efficient, and user-friendly.
- Testing & Validation: Conducting rigorous testing of developed modules, validating results against real-world power systems data, and refining algorithms for improved accuracy and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Keeping up to date with the latest developments in optimization methods, programming practices, and power system technologies to enhance ETAP’s optimization portfolio.

Eligibility Criteria
