2. Job Description

We are currently seeking a Practitioner to join the eShifa medical team. This is a full-time, patient-facing role where you will be providing healthcare services either remotely via teleconsultation or physically through home visits, depending on the needs of our patients and the service structure.

The Practitioner will be responsible for diagnosing, prescribing, and managing patients’ general health concerns, chronic diseases, and preventive health care. The role requires someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and capable of using telehealth tools and home visit protocols with competence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient consultations through telemedicine platforms or at-home visits, depending on assignment.
  • Record medical histories, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and other relevant health information accurately.
  • Prescribe medications and recommend lifestyle changes or further investigations as per medical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with specialists when patient cases require referrals or joint management.
  • Monitor patients with chronic conditions through follow-up schedules and health tracking systems.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about medication, treatment compliance, and preventive health practices.
  • Maintain detailed documentation in eShifa’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Participate in quality audits, training, and team meetings to uphold care standards.
  • Adhere to eShifa’s safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and data privacy requirements.
  • Provide support in mobile health units, health camps, or community health initiatives when needed.

The ideal candidate should be able to handle a wide variety of general medical cases and be comfortable working in a semi-digital ecosystem. The role may include occasional travel within the city to visit patients and must be open to flexible working hours based on appointment scheduling.


3. Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the position of Practitioner at eShifa, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

  • MBBS or equivalent degree from a PMDC-recognized institution
  • Valid PMDC/PMC license to practice as a medical doctor
  • Postgraduate training or certification in Family Medicine or General Medicine (preferred but not mandatory)

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a clinical setting such as hospital, clinic, or home healthcare
  • Experience with telemedicine platforms or digital health technologies will be a strong plus
  • Exposure to general practice, internal medicine, or home care services is desirable

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic abilities
  • Comfortable using digital devices, electronic health records (EHR/EMR), and telehealth tools
  • Excellent communication skills in Urdu and English
  • Compassionate approach toward patient care with an emphasis on empathy and ethics
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in both virtual and physical settings
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to represent the eShifa brand with integrity
  • Good understanding of community health practices and preventive care models

Other Requirements:

  • Must have a valid CNIC and professional license
  • Must be available for flexible shifts, including weekends if required
  • Own transport for mobility in case of home visit requirements is a plus
  • Should be based in a major city where eShifa operates, preferably Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi

4. Location

This is a multi-city opportunity. The role may be based in Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi depending on the availability and needs of the eShifa network. While much of the work may be remote or via digital platforms, field visits to patients’ homes and mobile clinic participation may be required occasionally.
