Job Description
The Product Design Engineer will play a key role in conceptualizing, modeling, refining, and preparing products for manufacturing.
A primary responsibility of this role is working extensively in SolidWorks to develop detailed 3D models. The engineer must be able to create precise part models, assemblies, exploded views, and manufacturing drawings.
The role requires converting ideas and conceptual sketches into functional product designs. This includes evaluating feasibility, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring mechanical strength.
The engineer will develop production-ready designs by preparing detailed drawings that include dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
Prototyping is an important aspect of the position. The candidate may collaborate with fabrication teams to produce test models and refine them based on testing results.
The Product Design Engineer must ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability. This includes minimizing unnecessary complexity, reducing material waste, and considering assembly efficiency.
