Job Description
The Recycling Machine Operator at IPAK will be responsible for managing and operating recycling machinery, primarily for reprocessing BOPP film scrap into usable production material. The role involves monitoring machine performance, maintaining recycling line parameters, and ensuring the quality of output is consistent with company standards. Operators play a pivotal role in maintaining smooth and efficient recycling operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting sustainability objectives.
Key responsibilities include operating extruder and recycling machines, feeding raw or recycled materials into the system, and monitoring all stages of the recycling process. The operator will maintain optimal machine parameters to achieve the desired quality and output, ensuring that recycled materials meet internal and industry specifications. Maintaining proper segregation and handling of BOPP film waste is an essential part of the process, as this ensures efficient processing and high-quality output.
Daily tasks also include conducting routine machine checks, identifying and troubleshooting minor operational issues, and maintaining accurate production records. The Recycling Machine Operator will track machine performance, report any irregularities, and assist maintenance teams in performing preventive maintenance and repairs. Detailed records of material usage, production output, and downtime are maintained to optimize operational efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Working in a shift-based environment, the operator will collaborate closely with supervisors, technical teams, and other operators to ensure the recycling line operates continuously and efficiently. Safety is a critical component of the role. The operator must strictly follow operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adhere to company safety policies to minimize risk and maintain a safe working environment.
This role also emphasizes cleanliness and organization in the recycling area. Proper housekeeping ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and prevents contamination of recycled materials. The operator will actively participate in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment, aligning with IPAK’s commitment to high standards of workplace safety and operational excellence.
The Recycling Machine Operator role provides both practical hands-on experience and a platform for professional growth. By working with advanced machinery and being involved in the complete recycling process, operators gain skills in machine operation, production optimization, quality control, and sustainability practices. Over time, successful candidates can advance to senior operator roles, maintenance support, or supervisory positions within IPAK’s production and recycling departments.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Recycling Machine Operator role at IPAK, candidates should have a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines. This ensures they have the technical knowledge necessary to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial machinery efficiently.
Experience of 1–3 years in machine operation or related industrial work is preferred, although highly motivated candidates with a strong technical foundation and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Fresh graduates with relevant training are also welcome, as IPAK emphasizes hands-on learning and skill development.
Candidates must be willing to work in shifts and adapt to the challenges of an industrial production environment. This includes maintaining focus during extended operations, managing machine processes efficiently, and ensuring consistent output quality throughout the shift.
Key skills include strong interpersonal abilities, effective communication, problem-solving aptitude, and attention to detail. Operators should be able to collaborate with colleagues, follow instructions accurately, and quickly identify and report operational concerns to supervisors or maintenance teams.
The ideal candidate is someone motivated to grow professionally within the company, committed to operational safety and excellence, and eager to learn advanced industrial and recycling practices.
