Job Description

The Senior Assistant (Accounts, Purchasing & Store Management) position at NASTP Alpha, Rawalpindi, is a key operational role within the Simulation Lodges Department. This position involves managing financial operations, handling procurement, and overseeing store inventory management in a structured, high-compliance environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial data, ensuring smooth procurement processes, and managing store operations in accordance with NASTP’s policies and audit standards. The role requires someone who can effectively balance analytical skills with practical experience in financial and operational coordination.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update accounting records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements, ensuring they comply with recognized accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support budget preparation and expenditure tracking, ensuring all financial operations align with departmental goals.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and handle timely submission of returns and relevant documentation.
  • Process payroll, maintain the fixed asset register, and perform variance analysis to support management in decision-making.
  • Manage the complete procurement cycle from requisition to delivery, ensuring efficiency and transparency.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate competitive prices, and maintain effective vendor relationships to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
  • Process and track purchase orders while maintaining proper records for audit purposes.
  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct routine physical stock counts and reconcile any differences between physical and recorded inventory.
  • Implement strong internal controls to minimize risks such as shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and environmental standards within store operations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for financial audits and assist during audit reviews by providing relevant data and clarifications.
  • Coordinate closely with the finance, procurement, and technical departments to ensure operational alignment.
  • Participate in process improvement projects to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting and store management.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, purchasing, and store management.
Experience in the public sector or large-scale industrial organization will be considered an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, ERP, or SAP systems.
  • Advanced command of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for financial data analysis and reporting.
