Job Description

The Senior Automation Engineer at Target Engineering will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions that meet client and project specifications. This position demands a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PLC Programming: Develop and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems, ensuring they operate effectively and reliably across various industrial processes.
  • SCADA Programming: Design and implement SCADA systems to monitor, control, and visualize plant operations, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • System Design: Prepare automation system designs, schematics, and technical documentation. This includes creating architecture diagrams, control logic, and interface layouts.
  • Assembly and Testing: Oversee the assembly of automation panels and systems, conducting thorough testing and validation to ensure performance accuracy before field deployment.
  • Field Installation and Commissioning: Lead on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful implementation.
  • Project Leadership: Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to deliver projects within scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to system performance, hardware faults, and communication errors during project execution.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including operation manuals, test reports, and as-built drawings.

Eligibility Criteria

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Automatic Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7–10 years of professional experience in automation engineering (mandatory).
  • Strong experience in PLC and SCADA programming, with proven expertise in design, testing, and commissioning.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in automation software platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or Omron PLCs.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA systems such as Wonderware, WinCC, or iFIX.
