Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Technician role for Wartsila 18V50DF engines in Saudi Arabia is a highly specialized position requiring a combination of advanced technical knowledge, practical maintenance experience, and an ability to work under the strict operational demands of large-scale power generation systems. This is not a general mechanical technician role—it specifically targets professionals who have spent years working on Wartsila 50DF engines, with a deep understanding of their design, operation, and maintenance schedules.
The selected candidates will be responsible for performing planned and corrective maintenance on Wartsila 18V50DF engines at scheduled intervals, including 500-hour, 1,000-hour, 2,000-hour, 4,000-hour, 6,000-hour, 12,000-hour, and 18,000-hour services. Each maintenance interval involves different levels of inspection, component replacement, and system adjustments, requiring the technician to follow Wartsila’s technical manuals and service bulletins with precision.
A major part of the role includes overhauling Alfa Laval separators for both lube oil and crude recovery operations (CRO). This requires familiarity with the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of separator components, as well as the calibration of these systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with operational standards.
The position also demands experience in the maintenance and overhauling of Boll & Kirch automatic lube oil filters, which play a crucial role in engine lubrication systems. - Documented experience in planned maintenance schedules at 500H, 1K, 2K, 4K, 6K, 12K, and 18K intervals.
- Proven track record in servicing and overhauling Alfa Laval separators (Lube Oil & CRO) and Boll & Kirch automatic lube oil filters.
- Hands-on involvement with AAF charge air filter systems, including cleaning, servicing, and overhauling.
- Experience in exhaust gas system maintenance, particularly compensator replacement, WG and bypass system inspection, and oil mist separator servicing.
- Expertise in the maintenance and overhauling of air compressors and dryers (Speere, Gardner Denver, Atlas Copco).
- Proficiency in precision alignment of rotary equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, drives, and couplings.
