Job Description
The Sr. Electrical Design Engineer at Velosi is responsible for providing comprehensive electrical engineering design and consultancy services for oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. This role requires expertise in FEED and Detail Engineering, ensuring that electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems, are designed to meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
The key responsibilities include designing MV/LV power systems, switchgear, MCC, UPS, and other associated equipment. The engineer will prepare load lists, single-line diagrams, control schematics, specifications, datasheets, tender requisitions, and cable schedules. The position also involves conducting lighting calculations using software such as DIALux and Calculux to ensure proper illumination levels for both indoor and outdoor applications.
The engineer will develop specifications for generators, transformers, UPS systems, cabling, grounding, and lightning protection. They will assist in preparing bid proposals, technical query reviews, execution statements, and man-hour estimates. All work must comply with international standards and company policies.
Additional responsibilities include reviewing project scopes, identifying potential issues, raising technical queries, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
