Job Description
The Sr. Engineer / Section Head – Electrical position at Fatima Energy Limited is a senior-level engineering and leadership role responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, and reliability of the plant’s electrical systems. The role involves managing high-voltage equipment, electrical distribution systems, control systems, and power generation components in accordance with the company’s maintenance strategy and industry standards.
This position demands a technically sound and experienced professional who can lead teams, ensure compliance with operational protocols, and deliver consistent performance in a demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all electrical maintenance activities as per established procedures, techniques, and operational manuals.
- Ensure the implementation and strict compliance of the Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) system to guarantee safety during electrical work.
- Conduct annual inspections and preventive maintenance of HT feeders, transformers, circuit breakers, and bus bars.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of generators, excitation systems, Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs), and generator control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues across the power generation and distribution network to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Prepare and manage the spare parts inventory, maintenance budget, and resource utilization effectively.
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians to deliver preventive and corrective maintenance programs on time.
- Coordinate with plant operations, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to optimize plant reliability and electrical efficiency.
- Develop and implement energy optimization strategies, ensuring all systems operate within safe and efficient limits.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance records, logs, and inspection reports in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits, plant shutdowns, and technical inspections to ensure full compliance with O&M standards.
This is a highly responsible role that combines leadership, technical expertise, and safety management within a large-scale power generation facility. The selected individual will play an integral part in ensuring reliable energy output and in mentoring junior engineers within the department.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- BSc Electrical Engineering from a reputable and accredited institution (PEC registration preferred).
Experience
- 9–12 years of relevant professional experience in electrical maintenance, power plant operations, or industrial energy systems.
- Prior experience in high-voltage systems, generators, and control systems within a process or energy plant environment is required.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of power generation systems, electrical distribution networks, and protection schemes.
- Proven experience with LOTO systems, generator excitation, and control panel management.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning, equipment reliability analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with PLC systems, automation controls, and energy efficiency programs is a strong advantage.
Soft Skills
- Effective leadership and team management skills to supervise multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
